MSNBC's Eddie Glaude Jr. called out Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) for raising campaign cash off her unhinged threats against fellow lawmakers -- and revealed who's reveling in the controversy surrounding the newly elected congresswoman.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has been protecting the Georgia Republican from Democratic threats to remove her from committee assignments over her conspiratorial views and apparent support for lynching and assassinating leading Democrats, and Glaude told "Morning Joe" that a pair of GOP senators are quietly thrilled by Greene's turn in the spotlight.

MSNBC's John Heilemann said fear of Donald Trump was leading the Republican Party down a dark and self-destructive path.

The turmoil inside the GOP caucus -- embodied by the failed vote to remove Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) from leadership and the scramble to protect Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) -- can all be traced back to the party's continued fear of the former president, who has been exiled from social media back to his Mar-A-Lago resort.

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough condemned the Republican "lynching caucus" that backed Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) while moving to punish Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY).

The newly elected Georgia Republican got a standing ovation Wednesday evening from some colleagues during a closed-door House GOP conference meeting, while 61 Republicans voted to strip Cheney of her conference chair.

On CNN Wednesday, longtime GOP strategist and Lincoln Project co-founder Rick Wilson said that the Republican Party has been wholly taken over by the strain of politics practiced by pro-QAnon Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).

"The real leader of the House [GOP] is Marjorie Taylor Greene ... she's effectively the leader," said Wilson. "She's forced in her alliance with Trump and the crazies and QAnon people, conspiracy theories and Jewish Laser Lobby, that's the dominant strain. It is now what has taken over from the old Republican Party ... they believe that Hillary Clinton eats babies under a pizza restaurant. This woman barely could contain herself to try to behave for 15 minutes tonight, and McCarthy essentially didn't even bother to slap her on the wrist."

"Late Night" host Seth Meyers addressed the shocking revelations about the Axios report on the "craziest meeting of the Donald Trump presidency." Like the beginning of a bad joke, the report says, "four conspiracy theorists marched into the Oval Office."

Meyers read the report that Trump lawyer Sidney Powell "proposed declaring a national security emergency, granting her and her cabal top-secret security clearances and using the U.S. government to seize Dominion's voting machines."

The House is set to vote on whether or not Marjorie Taylor Greene should be removed from her committee assignments after threatening to assassinate Speaker Nancy Pelosi. While there are other conspiracy theories from Greene like 9/11 being an inside job and a plane not really hitting the pentagon, or that school shootings are all false flags, polls show support for Greene.

Axios reported Wednesday night that Republican voters prefer Greene over Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), who was just supported among 154 of her colleagues to the 61 who attempted to oust her. Ahead of the secret ballot vote for Cheney, the House GOP Caucus heard arguments about Greene, and after she spoke, she got a standing ovation, MSNBC/NBC's Jake Sherman reported.

Generations ago, when someone was shouting crazy things, their family hid them from view, ashamed of how it would look to the public. Today, the Republican Party gave Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) a standing ovation for her fight against Democrats over her conspiracy theories about 9/11, school shootings and a Jewish Space Laser. Still, for people like Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), the last thing he wants is for voters to pay attention to Greene, particularly given what she said about the school shooting in his state.

Writing for the Bulwark, former senior campaign staffer to Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Amanda Carpenter explained that Rubio is likely concerned that Greene will get "famous," "raise money," and "elevate" more of her right-wing theories.

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) has more Republican bona fides than even former President Donald Trump. Still, on Wednesday evening the caucus met to discuss whether to oust her as the GOP Caucus Whip because she voted to impeach Trump for the insurrection on the U.S. Capitol Jan. 6. After a vote, she managed to hold onto the seat with just 61 Republicans voting to remove her from the leadership.

The group formerly known as Republican Voters Against Trump has rebranded as The Republican Accountability Project, going after far-right QAnon officials who have taken over the GOP.

In a new ad that they've posted on their social media, the group makes the case that the soul of the Republican Party is up for grabs and is being taken over by the far-right.

On MSNBC Wednesday, Daily Beast columnist Margaret Carlson noted that right-wing outlets are starting to turn on Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) — but for the wrong reasons.

"You know, last night on Fox, Mitch McConnell was called a 'foolish old fraud,'" said Carlson. "And all Mitch McConnell has done is speak the truth. I'm amazed at Mitch McConnell, actually. I wonder what's happened to him that he's got an open mind, that he accused Trump of lying and causing the mob, and that it was impeachable offenses, and then he goes after Marjorie Taylor Greene and supports Liz Cheney, as he should, but which his whole party is not doing. It's Mitch McConnell leading. But for that, all he did was that. And now he is a 'foolish old fraud.'"

Former Republican and former communications adviser to President George W. Bush, Nicolle Wallace, predicted that many of the Republicans in office are "going home in two years."

Speaking to conservative columnist A.B. Stoddard and MSNBC's John Heilemann, Wallace mocked the Republicans who have tried to dodge questions about QAnon Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).

On Wednesday, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) issued a statement making it clear that his party will take no action to remove pro-QAnon Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) from her committee assignments.

“Past comments from and endorsed by Marjorie Taylor Greene on school shootings, political violence, and anti-Semitic conspiracy theories do not represent the values or beliefs of the House Republican Conference. I condemn those comments unequivocally," said McCarthy. However, he added, “While Democrats pursue a resolution on Congresswoman Greene, they continue to do nothing about Democrats serving on the Foreign Affairs Committee who have spread anti-Semitic tropes, Democrats on the House Intelligence and Homeland Security Committee compromised by Chinese spies, or the Chairwoman of the House Financial Services Committee who advocated for violence against public servants."

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) spoke to Fox News Wednesday to rant against the "cancel culture" of QAnon Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).

"No one's condoning the remarks that she made," he told Fox. "I've not heard any Republican say that they're appropriate. So, that's not the issue."
