Marjorie Taylor Greene ridiculed as a 'DNC sleeper agent' after giving Joe Biden a boost

On Friday morning, the MSNBC' Morning Joe' panel gleefully pounced on Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) for her handing President Joe Biden a boost to his re-election prospects by comparing him to popular presidents when she thought she was attacking him.

Speaking at the Turning Points Action conference last weekend, the controversial Georgia Republican equated Biden to Presidents Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Lyndon Baines Johnson as part of an attack on programs from their administrations that have been enormously popular with Americans.

White House wants 'desperate' GOP held accountable after Grassley publishes 'uncorroborated FBI record'

The Biden White House is urging reporters to hold the GOP accountable for “claims that have been debunked for years” after U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) Thursday afternoon published a years-old FBI form, essentially notes from an interview with an unnamed source relaying second-hand, even older allegations against President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden.

That form, known as an FD-1023, “is the form our special agents use to record raw, unverified reporting from confidential human sources (CHSs),” the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI said in a statement when interest in the existence of the form grew earlier this year. “FD-1023s merely document that information; they do not reflect the conclusions of investigators based on a fuller context or understanding. Recording this information does not validate it, establish its credibility, or weigh it against other information known or developed by the FBI in our investigations.”

A vote to 'expunge' Trump impeachments could be 'poisonous' to vulnerable Republicans: report

Donald Trump was the first president in U.S. history to be impeached twice — first in response to his attempt to bully Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky into helping him dig up dirt on now-President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden, then because of the January 6, 2021 insurrection. Three U.S. presidents faced articles of impeachment before Trump (Republican Richard Nixon and Democrats Bill Clinton and Andrew Johnson), but only Trump was impeached a second time.

Trump, however, was acquitted by the U.S. Senate in both of his impeachment trials. And in June, two of his allies in the U.S. House of Representatives — House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik (R-New York) and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia) — proposed that his two impeachments be "expunged."

Law professor: Trump indictments may be last chance to save 'American democracy' from authoritarian takeover

On July 17, the New York Times published a disturbing article by Jonathan Swan, Charlie Savage and Maggie Haberman that details former President Donald Trump and his allies' plans to give the U.S. federal government a major makeover if he wins the 2024 election. The journalists reported that the Trump campaign envisions a "sweeping expansion of presidential power over the machinery of government" that would greatly undermine the United States' system of checks and balances in 2025.

The Times' report came at a time when Trump is facing two criminal indictments: a 37-count prosecution by special counsel Jack Smith and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and a 34-count New York State prosecution by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, Jr. And more indictments may be coming soon: Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 election results are the focus of criminal investigations by Smith for DOJ and Fulton County DA Fani Willis for the State of Georgia.

Former Acting United States Deputy Attorney General Richard Donoghue on Tuesday refuted the attacks on Justice Department special counsel Jack Smith that House of Representatives Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-California) and ex-President Donald Trump escalated following Trump's revelation that he is a target in Smith's investigation into the plot to steal the 2020 election.

"Rich Donoghue, you worked in the Trump administration. You also know Jack Smith. It sounds like leader McCarthy is basically saying Jack Smith is corrupt, that he has been corrupted. What do you make of that?" NewsNation host Dan Abrams asked on Dan Abrams Live.

‘Not worried’: Lauren Boebert says Democrats’ big-money plan to ‘buy’ her congressional seat will fail

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) and the Republican Party have a problem on their hands: The congresswoman’s offensively headline-grabbing ways in Washington have turned her safe Republican seat into a toss-up that promises to be one of the most expensive House races in 2024 — if not in history.

In 2022, Boebert beat local businessman Adam Frisch by a mere 546 votes, but Frisch — who is angling for a rematch — continues to lap her in fundraising for the 2024 cycle.

The former president announced Tuesday morning he has been told he is a target of the Special Counsel's investigation into efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

Trump "has reached out to some of his top allies on Capitol Hill to strategize how they’re going to defend Trump & go on offense against the special counsel probe," CNN Capitol Hill reporter Melanie Zanona said on social media Tuesday afternoon.
