Comer hammered for letting MTG run wild in committee hearings

In a scathing letter to House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) on Thursday, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) slammed the lack of leadership after Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) showed footage of Hunter Biden in the middle of a sex act during an open committee hearing.

"If Rep. Greene’s completely gratuitous and irrelevant display of pornographic images at our televised hearing does not violate the Congressional rules of decorum, then we have no rules of Congressional decorum," wrote Raskin. "This type of display is a violation of House rules, and, as you yourself have recognized, also 'counter to a credible investigation.'"

DC insider: Republicans have made up these 5 crises to distract you

Here are five totally made-up “crises” Republicans have invented to distract from the real crises facing Americans today: the growing concentration of wealth, the worsening climate crisis, and the undermining of our democracy.

Fake crisis #1: Anything they claim is “woke.”

Although Republicans struggle to define what “woke” even means, they’re constantly using it as a weapon to combat anything that seeks to foster tolerance and acceptance.

'Completely unverified': Even Fox News isn’t buying McCarthy’s rush to impeach Biden

As the clock ticks toward a likely third criminal indictment of Donald Trump, the GOP has been working practically around the clock trying to distract from yet another major hit against their party’s unofficial 2024 presidential nominee, with the top-ranking Republican trotting out what is tantamount to going nuclear: threatening to impeach the President of the United States of America.

For what? A years-old conspiracy theory that was debunked long ago.

Fox hosts: Bombing Mexico 'a good idea' because shoplifting is 'terrorist activity'

During the Wednesday, July 25, segment of Fox News' The Five, the conservative co-hosts Jesse Watters, Jeanine Pirro, Dana Perino and Greg Gutfeld suggested Mexican drug cartels are behind a shoplifting surge in America, and to combat the alleged issue — the U.S. military should bomb them.

Host Jesse Watters began the conversation saying, "While the liberal media gets a crash course on crime, we're learning that Mexican drug cartels are fueling America's shoplifting surge. They're selling the stolen stuff online and then laundering the profits through, guess where? Chinese brokers. So, Dana, CNN finally discovered crime is a crisis in San Francisco."

'Delusional' RFK Jr. is a 'Republican plush toy' being used by extreme GOP: MSNBC's Donny Deutsch

If it appears that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is getting more support from Republicans than Democrats in his ostensibly Democratic campaign for president, you're not imagining it. The environmental lawyer turned conspiracy theorist who claims pediatric vaccines cause autism and recently suggested COVID was a bioweapon "ethnically targeted" to spare Jews has numerous Republicans talking up his candidacy, and Jason Boles, head of the super PAC supporting Kennedy, has also done campaign finance for Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Lauren Boebert (R-CO), and George Santos (R-NY).

Kennedy probably doesn't even realize that he's being used by Republican operatives to try to divide Democrats, argued "On Brand" podcaster Donny Deutsch on MSNBC's "Deadline: White House" Friday.
