Esquire's Charlie Pierce wrote on Monday that the United States has exported its crazy anti-vaxxers to Canada -- but they're not going facing the soft response that protesters have in the U.S.

As truckers flooded the streets of Ottawa, politicians on all sides are pushing for a heavy response from law enforcement. Ontario Premier Doug Ford tweeted that he has sent law enforcement assistance to Ottawa. As Pierce explained, "as far as wingnut uprisings go, when you’ve lost Doug Ford…"

Former Tesla employee Kaylen Barker filed a lawsuit last week against Tesla charging racial discrimination. Now a California regulator believes it has enough evidence to file a civil rights lawsuit, the Daily Beast reported Monday.

But those well-versed in math and others well-versed in history couldn't help but notice that 40 out of over 7,500 officials around the country isn't exactly the best number. In fact, it's just .533 percent of all GOP candidates who are Black, according to those numbers.

Speaking to MSNBC on Sunday, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) warned that without accountability, another attack similar to Jan. 6, 2021, will follow.

BuzzFeed justice reporter Zoe Tillman captured one key commonality in the court cases of the Jan. 6 insurrectionists as they appear before judges: Their pleas to remove the charges of obstructing an official proceeding are being rejected.

In her piece Thursday, Tillman explained that the charge carries with it a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. The description in the statute is 18 USC 1512(c)(2), which says that any person who "corruptly … obstructs, influences, or impedes any official proceeding, or attempts to do so" can be charged.
