WATCH: Kim Davis' husband speaks at a completely insane Tennessee pastor rally
Joe Davis, the husband of Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis, appeared at a fiery rally against Planned Parenthood in Tennessee on Thursday and urged supporters to continue praying for his wife.
Standing in Nashville's Legislative Plaza, Tennessee Pastor Network President Dale Walker praised Kim Davis for "going to jail for Jesus Christ."
But before Joe could take the podium, Walker invited a choir to sing Happy Birthday To You in honor of his wife's 50th birthday.
"Well, I'm not a speaker," Joe remarked in his trademark overalls. "I really truly appreciate and love each and every one that's here today to show the support for God first, and for me and my wife. I love each and every one of you. I love everybody."
"Y'all just keep praying for me and my wife, that God will give us the strength to fight this battle until its' over with," he asked. "God bless you all."
Kentucky pastor Randy Smith who spoke after Joe Davis asserted that "Kim Davis was lawlessly put into jail for standing upon the convictions that God had given her."
"It came upon my heart to go down [to Rowan County] as I knew that homosexual couples would come and they would want their marriage license, and I stood there by the door with the Christian flag draped beside me, and this is what I read as the door of the county clerk began to open, and a lesbian couple was there and there was the press around them," he recalled. "And this is what I read: For this cause, God gave them up on the vile affections for even the women did change the natural use of that which is against nature and likewise also the men leaving the natural use of a woman burned in their lust one toward another, men with men, working that which is unseemly."
"It doesn't matter what the Supreme Court of the United States says!" Smith yelled. "It does not matter what the federal judge, David Bunning, said. When you stand before God and I stand before God, we're not going to be before the Supreme Court of the United States of America, but we're going to be before the Supreme God because there is no other God except the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob!"
"Pray for us in Kentucky," the pastor concluded. "The fight has just begun and we will win!"
Rafael Cruz, Dr. Richard Land and Bishop E.W. Jackson also appeared at the rally, which promised to defend "religious freedom and uphold God’s design for the nation" and address "shifting marriage and family foundations, an unworkable immigration system, weak terrorism laws, failing education, a damaging nationalized health care system, lack of religious freedom protections and the blatant violation of the U.S. Constitution."
