Rick Wilson analyzed the threat Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis poses to Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential race in a hilariously profane rant on Twitter.

The former Republican strategist pointed out that whispers out of the governor's camp, including spokeswoman and registered foreign lobbyist Christina Pushaw, have gotten louder about a presidential run for DeSantis, regardless of whether Trump intends to run, and Wilson examined those signals for clues.

According to MSNBC's Zeeshan Alleem, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) who is normally not shy about jumping on the latest conservative controversy du jour, has been mostly silent on the Supreme Court Dobbs ruling giving states the right to ban abortion.

Since the controversial ruling was handed down after a 6-3 vote by the conservative majority, the high-profile Florida governor, who is doing all he can to stay in the national spotlight with an eye on the 2024 GOP presidential nomination, has only briefly addressed what kind of restrictions he wants his Republican-dominated legislature to put forth with the Supreme Court's blessing.

'Family friction' and indictments: Trump's path to 2024 is littered with obstacles

The New York Times reported last week that Trump wants to jump into the race as soon as possible for multiple reasons -- including slowing down the growing threat from Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) -- and it is likely to come sooner than later.

AOC triples down on Pelosi — and calls for pro-choice party purity test in wake of Roe

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Now that Roe v. Wade is nullified – along with the reproductive rights it enshrined for women – progressives are increasing pressure on Democratic Party leaders to rip up their old playbook. They say two things are clear: 1. Roe was ripped away on their watch, and 2. they have no concrete plan to reinstate it.

A case in point, to increasingly restive progressives, is that even after the Roe decision was leaked back in May, Democratic Party leaders continued to support anti-abortion Texas incumbent Rep. Henry Cuellar over his progressive challenger Jessica Cisneros. That runoff divided establishment Democrats from the party’s growing ranks of progressives, many of whom are inspired and supported by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).

Newsom’s attack ad on DeSantis could be 2024 presidential preview

ORLANDO, Fla. — Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s $100,000 Fox News ad on Monday urging Floridians to “join the fight” against Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis “or join us in California” has drawn a muted response from state Democrats and dismissals from Republicans. But it’s just the latest signal that as DeSantis’ national profile as a potential GOP presidential candidate increases, he can expect more attention from national Democrats and possible presidential opponents, whether in 2024 or 2028. “It’s an acknowledgement that DeSantis is a is a serious political threat to the Democrats,” ...

Harvard Law experts walk through the next horrific decision the Supreme Court could hand down

Harvard Law School Professor Laurence Tribe joined with former federal prosecutor Dennis Aftergut, who works for Lawyers Defending American Democracy, to pen a warning that Americans are about to lose more of their voting rights as the Supreme Court hands more power over to state legislatures.

Writing for the Los Angeles Times, Tribe and Aftergut explained that the announcement that the court will hear Moore v. Harper predicts another legal case that could restrict voting rights for Americans. Describing the conservative majority as "extremist justices," the two men explained the decision in the Moore case will likely stab "voters’ right to pick leaders of their choice."

Nearly two dozen GOP states attempting to use COVID relief funds for tax cuts

Republican leaders in nearly two dozen U.S. states are attempting—potentially in violation of federal law—to use coronavirus relief funds approved by Congress last year to finance tax cuts instead of devoting the money to combating the ongoing pandemic and its economic consequences.

The Washington Post reported Tuesday that GOP officials are working to subvert a provision in the American Rescue Plan (ARP) that bars states from using money from a $350 billion Covid-19 aid program "to either directly or indirectly offset a reduction in the net tax revenue."

'It's hurting Trump -- I think he knows it': Former White House insiders are causing Trump major problems

Expanding upon a column that he wrote for the Daily Beast over the weekend, conservative analyst Matt Lewis appeared on CNN's "New Day" to talk about the damage being done to former President Donald Trump by former members of his administration who have testified publicly against him on the televised House Jan 6th Committee hearings.

On Saturday Lewis wrote, "I don’t think there has ever been a past president who has engendered such little loyalty from his inner circle (yes, I’m counting Richard Nixon). But never mind presidents. How many people have you worked with who think you’re unfit and unstable? I’m guessing that number does not even approach Trump’s."
