WATCH: Arizona cops viciously beat drug suspect — then mock him as he lies bleeding
Police in Mesa, Arizona, are taking more heat after a newly released body camera video shows officers savagely beating a man arrested for drug possession -- and then mocking him while he's lying in a pool of his own blood.
NBC News reports Mesa police officers were caught on camera repeatedly punching 23-year-old Jose Luis Conde, whom they had pulled over and subsequently arrested after they allegedly found him to be in possession of a bag of cocaine.
In the body camera video released this week, multiple officers are shown kicking and punching Conde while he's already lying on that ground.
"I was tased, I was punched over and over by multiple cops," Conde said this week. "I was gouged in the eye. And I was hit in the head with a massive police flashlight."
The video also shows that, after taking Conde to the hospital to be treated for multiple wounds, police mocked Conde while he was lying in a pool of his own blood.
"Aaaaaw," one officer said sarcastically to Conde. "You gotta be a man, man. Man up."
Conde has been charged with felony possession of cocaine, aggravated assault for injuries to police officers, and one count each of escape and resisting arrest.
The Mesa Police Department has vowed a full investigation of the incident.
