Tuesday morning, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken appeared before the Senate to testify about the Afghanistan withdrawal, but Sen. James Risch (R-ID) kept asking the same question repeatedly about a conspiracy theory the secretary had never heard of.

"I'm more interested in the top decision making," Risch began. "Look, we've all seen this and saw it as recently as yesterday, somebody in the White House has the authority to press the button and cut off the president's speaking ability and sound. Who is that person?"

George Will lamented that the Republican Party no longer had room for conservatives like himself, and he offered a disturbing explanation for that dynamic.

The Washington Post columnist appeared Tuesday on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," where he lamented the rightward drift of the party he once called home but no longer feels any affinity toward after Donald Trump took it over.

The "Morning Joe" host was unimpressed by GOP lawmakers haranguing the secretary of state and calling on him to resign, which Scarborough suspected was intended to get them booked onto Fox News, and lamented the lack of decorum in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Former federal prosecutor Joyce Vance noted Monday evening that a key piece of evidence revealing voter fraud is a lie comes from the recent post on Republican Larry Elder's website before the election even took place.

The claim is that the California recall is over, even though the election is on Tuesday. The post says that Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) has already won and his campaign discovered voter fraud "through a statistical analysis of the results." All of this 24 hours before the election was even over.

MSNBC host Rachel Maddow unleashed on Cullman, Alabama for killing one of the city's most beloved citizens.

Ray DeMonia was an auctioneer who spent his whole life in Cullman, but he died 200 miles away in Mississippi because the hospital beds in Alabama were all full.

Speaking to MSNBC on Monday, legal analysts attacked Justice Amy Coney Barrett for her "partisan hackery" while she was speaking to Mitch McConnell's political school in Kentucky.

After speaking to Charlie Sykes and Dr. Joseph Allen, associate professor at the Harvard School of Public Health, Reid asked hip-hop artist Nicki Minaj what she was thinking after a bizarre firestorm on Twitter. Minaj falsely claimed that the COVID-19 vaccine caused "swollen testicles."

During a hearing Monday dealing with the mistakes made during the Afghanistan withdrawal, Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) called out former President Donald Trump's role in making things worse ahead of the evacuation.

Lieu, a former active duty Air Force colonel now serves in the reserves, cited the Feb. 29, 2020 document from Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo that committed to the withdrawal from Afghanistan. He noted that on the first page of the agreement that the U.S. committed to "removing all military forces from the allies and coalition partners, including non-diplomatic civilian personnel, private security, contractors, advisers and supporting services within 14 months following announcement of this agreement."

A congressional hearing on the withdrawal from Afghanistan devolved into shouting and chaos on Monday when Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL) accused Secretary of State Antony Blinken of committing treason and then refused to let him respond.

Mast started his questioning of Blinken by holding up photos of soldiers who died in Afghanistan during the withdrawal and suggesting that President Joe Biden manipulated intelligence to justify his withdrawal from the country.

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) called for the immediate removal of President Joe Biden and replacing him with "righteous men and women of God."

The Colorado Republican spoke Saturday at a conference hosted by the right-wing Truth & Liberty Coalition at Charis Bible College, where she called for the impeachment of Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris as part of a conservative Christian revolution against democratically elected leaders, reported Right Wing Watch.

An Illinois fast-food worker claims she was suspended from her job after she was shown on video fighting off an armed robber.

Araceli Sotelo, of Rockford, is seen in a viral video grappling with a robber who entered the Subway store where she worked Sept. 5 and walked behind the counter, where they scuffled until the assailant dropped his gun and the worker grabbed it, reported WFLD-TV.

In a discussion about President Donald Trump's Sept. 11 appearance at the Moonies' event, MSNBC's Medhi Hasan and Author and Daily Beast editor Molly Jong-Fast couldn't help but draw parallels to the other groups Trump is drawn to.

"Political rallies, paid appearances, interviews on Fox," said Hasan. "Those seem to be the only things that the Donald gets out of bed for these days. Did I miss anything?"

Austin, Texas Mayor Steve Adler doesn't think that the anti-abortion law will ultimately stand up in court, but he doesn't think it was meant to anyway.

Speaking to CNN's Jim Acosta on Sunday, Adler explained that after talking to legal scholars, he's convinced the law wouldn't stand, but it the damage has already been done.
