2 Florida children arrested after stealing 22 guns from store, police say

Two Florida children were arrested Wednesday after authorities said they burglarized a business stealing 22 guns and ammunition, according to authorities. At around 3 a.m. Cape Coral police responded to a call about a commercial burglary at the store Guns 4 Less,said Sgt. Julie Green of CCPD. Police arrested two brothers, an 11-year-old and a 14-year-old, who were near the store, Green said. U.S. Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) is attacking Democrats for not supporting his belief that the solution to mass school shootings is prayer.

197 Republicans – all but 10 – vote against raising minimum age to buy semi-automatic assault rifles

Responding to the increase in mass shootings Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives Wednesday evening voted to raise the minimum age to buy semiautomatic weapons, like the popular AR-15 style assault rifle, from 18 to 21.

The measure passed 228-199, with all but ten Republicans voting against it. Two Democrats also opposed the bill.

US congressman demands teachers be given guns at House gun control hearing on Uvalde

U.S. Rep. Andrew Clyde is demanding that elected officials give teachers guns and ensure they are legally allowed to carry them in their classrooms. The far-right Georgia Republican who owns several gun stores also demanded "Gun Free Zone" signs in school neighborhoods be replaced with signs threatening teachers will "do anything" to protect children.

"To those who say that teachers or staff will not take up arms to protect their students, I say they will," Clyde told the House Oversight Committee Wednesday during its highly-publicized hearing on gun violence focusing on the victims and families of those killed in recent mass shootings in Buffalo, New York, and Uvalde Texas.
