On CNN Wednesday, correspondent Jamie Gangel tore into the GOP's building push to remove Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) from leadership for her criticisms of former President Donald Trump.

"At one point Trump wrote she's a 'warmongering fool who has no business in party leadership' and 'Elise Stefanik is a far superior choice and has my complete support for conference chair,'" said anchor Jake Tapper. "Is Trump pulling the strings?"

On Wednesday's edition of CNN's "The Lead," former U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara suggested that even if Rudy Giuliani tries to flip on former President Donald Trump to save himself from the investigation into his foreign business dealings,

"New York prosecutors are also still actively investigating Donald Trump and the Trump Organization," said anchor Jake Tapper. "If you had to guess right now do you think that potentially Giuliani might flip on Trump if it means saving himself, and is that possibly what's going on with the investigation into Giuliani?"

MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace played a years-old clip of legal adviser and former prosecutor Neal Katyal saying that it was clear there was a "miss-match" between what then-Attorney General Bill Barr was saying about Robert Mueller's investigation and what the special counsel was saying. Years after the fact, it has become clear that Barr not only lied to the American people, but he lied to Congress and he lied in court, while trying to cover up what was actually being done to protect then President Donald Trump.

"I'm not sitting here feeling good about the fact that I and so many others were right two years ago," he confessed Wednesday. "I desperately wanted to be wrong. Our system is set up to trust Barr was attorney general of the United States. not the attorney general for President Trump. He was supposed to be for the people. Unfortunately, there was always a degree of corruption around him. He constantly acted like one of Donald Trump's personal attorneys. Now, with the new decision by the judge into his deception, he's finally being treated like one of the gang, which he always was."

Texas Republican congressional candidate Michael Wood revealed that after his campaign he believed the Republican Party has "lost its way." But talking to MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace, a former Republican herself, Wood explained that the GOP has become a party of grievances and is ignoring policies and solutions that Americans need.

"I think I was in a difficult spot, like a lot of conservatives were," Wood said about why he voted for Trump in 2020. "And I wonder if I wasn't too myopic and small-minded focusing on judges or tax cuts or Israel and maybe I should have taken a step backwards and taken more seriously the -- what other people were saying about him, the would-be autocrat and whatnot. I will say that after I voted for him, immediately he did everything he could to make me regret it. Leading up to Jan. 6 and including the big lie."

In a discussion about former Attorney General Bill Barr and revelations that he lied in court, MSNBC experts discussed with host Nicolle Wallace how a former attorney general is held accountable. At the same time, the group wondered if Barr worked so hard to cover this up, what else there is that he lied about and tried to cover up for former President Donald Trump.

"We've gotten used to talking about the politicization and the corruption of the Justice Department under Bill Barr," said former DOJ spokesperson Matt Miller. What I think we're seeing more and more is just the outright dishonesty. In this case you have a nesting doll of lies where you have the underlying fact where he misled the country about what was in the Mueller report. You have the Justice Department lying to the court about the purpose of the memo and lying to the court about the contents of the memo and what you find is that there is a culture of dishonesty that permeated the department and the tangled web you weave and the department told an initial lie in Bill Barr's letter in Bill Barr's press conference in 2018 and had spent the last two years trying to cover it up."

Speaking to MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell in Ukraine, a former adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky revealed that Rudy Giuliani heavily pressed the president's office to destroy Joe Biden as he began his presidential campaign in July 2019.

Igor Novikov was asked to listen in to the call with Giuliani that gave Ukraine the implication that he was trying to create policy. Giuliani introduced himself as President Donald Trump's personal lawyer but also implied that he was a policy adviser.

Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade got an unpleasant surprise on Wednesday morning when a young boy he was interviewing trashed former President Donald Trump.

In a segment intended to highlight the failure to reopen schools, Kilmeade hosted several young students who have been learning from home over the last year.

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough pointed out that former attorney general Bill Barr's "sleazy actions" during the end stages of Robert Mueller's investigation have always been apparent, but they're newly relevant now that they've caught the attention of a federal court.

District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson ruled that the Justice Department under Barr misled Congress about the decision not to charge former president Donald Trump with obstructing the Russia investigation, and she ordered the department to release the full unredacted memo the former attorney general says justified his inaction.

Jimmy Kimmel brought together doctors and nurses to compare their expertise to that of people who post photos of their dollhouses on Facebook trying to pretend they're somehow COVID vaccine experts.

Walking through their expertise, the doctors explained how many years they had to go to school and then how many years they had to do a residency before they were allowed to work as doctors. A doctor appeared in a hospital room recalling a time when she had to crack the chest of someone and manually beat their heart for them with her own hands. In one case, an emergency doctor who said he'd delivered several babies in cars, noted that he likely won't pay off all of his student loans until he's retired.

Anti-maskers are continuing to freak out in public places only to be filmed by those observing the meltdown. Such was the case when a woman hilariously mocked one man during his anti-mask meltdown.

In the Tik-tok video, the man is seen losing it in a grocery store before storming into the parking lot waving his mask and ranting when telling the woman filming, "you can shove it, b*tch."

On CNN Tuesday, former Rep. Charlie Dent (R-PA) scorched the GOP under House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, declaring it unable to purge the "whackjobs" from its ranks.

"Going forward, [moderate Republicans] will be savaged by their own," said anchor Chris Cuomo. "This is a party that will hang with Matt Gaetz. I'm all for due process. He would be a dead man on the left because it's all about the process. Here, they stick with the QAnon kook and kill Liz Cheney. If you're a moderate, aren't you a DMW, Dead Man Walking?"

In a hilarious moment on MSNBC Tuesday evening, host Ari Melber ridiculed President Donald Trump's new "social media platform," that he said is nothing more than a blog from the 1990s.

"Donald Trump, after talking about creating a social media platform, instead of doing that or starting an app or a tech company, instead he's launched a blog," said Melber with a smirk. "It is a section of his website that operates like a WordPress blog. And so, I'm not here to make Donald Trump look ridiculous. Today he's done that all by himself. They didn't need to pretend or lie that they were going to create an app or a tech platform. If they put millions into it, that would have been an interesting thing. What does it tell you that he is going straight BlogSpot, straight LiveJournal, straight back to '95, baby."

In the Tennessee House of Representatives Tuesday, Knoxville Republican Rep. Justin Lafferty defended the three-fifths compromise — the constitutional provision counting enslaved persons as 3/5ths of a person — and claimed that the purpose of the provision was to bring about the end of slavery down the line.

"The three-fifths compromise was a direct effort to ensure that Southern states never got the population necessary to continue the practice of slavery everywhere else in the country," said Lafferty. "What does that mean? Appropriation based on population. We've got nine state representatives. By limiting the number of population in the count, they specifically limited the number of representatives that would be available in the slave-owning states, and they did it for the purpose of ending slavery."
