'Dukes of Hazzard' actor attacks Biden as floods hit his state: 'We don't need the government coming in'

Actor John Schneider of the Dukes of Hazzard called for unity while verbally attacking President Joe Biden as new flooding hit the state of Louisiana, where his property is located.

During an interview on Fox & Friends, host Steve Doocy shared photographs of the destruction on Schneider's property, including several photos of a "General Lee" car that was used in his hit show. In one photo, the Confederate flag painted on the top of the car has been smashed by a fallen tree.

The lab leak theory is falling apart

America's spies still don't know where covid came from. In May, President Joe Biden called for a three-month sprint to discover the origins of Covid-19, but according to a recently-released report by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), the body that oversees the 18 agencies that comprise the US Intelligence Community (IC), little progress has been made toward that goal. This shouldn't surprise anyone. It was sheer hubris to expect the IC to crack one of the major scientific mysteries of our time over the summer.

It's fair to ask why the president gave this mission to the IC in the first place. We normally look to epidemiologists and virologists to explain the origins of viruses, not spies. And the unclassified summary of the report implies that the spooks are leaning heavily on the same body of scientific literature as everyone else.

CNN's Jake Tapper catches GOP senator in false claim that Biden never thanked vets for Afghan service

During a CNN discussion of the Afghanistan withdrawal Wednesday, Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA), herself a combat veteran, tried to claim that President Joe Biden hasn't thanked veterans for fighting in Afghanistan — and was promptly corrected by anchor Jake Tapper.

"As I visit with other veterans, as I have talked to those Gold Star spouses, those Gold Star families, many feel that they have been left behind," said Ernst. "And what I have not heard from this president is a thank you to those veterans who have served in the global war on terror. Not once has he expressed empathy and gratitude to the men and women who have put the uniform on and have fought so bravely overseas the last 20 years to keep our homeland safe."

Republicans either can't figure out the message on Afghanistan — or can't stop themselves from lying: conservative

After years of lying to the American people, conservative columnist Max Boot said Wednesday that Republicans simply can't stop themselves from continuing to do it.

In his column for the Washington Post, Boot argued that Republican officials can't decide where they stand on President Joe Biden's withdrawal from Afghanistan. Some wanted him to exit faster. Others decided Biden shouldn't have exited at all.
