'Saying the quiet part out loud': David Perdue admits he is a coup-supporting insurrectionist

Conservative Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp now has a challenger in Georgia’s 2022 GOP gubernatorial primary: former Sen. David Perdue, who is attacking Kemp for certifying 2020’s presidential election results in the Peach State. Washington Post opinion writer Jennifer Rubin, a Never Trump conservative, weighs in on Perdue’s campaign in her December 9 column — stressing that the former U.S. senator has, in essence, admitted to being an “insurrectionist” and a “coup” supporter. And sadly, Rubin laments, he isn’t alone in that regard when it comes to Trump-backed Republican candidates.

Former President Donald Trump, who has endorsed Perdue, now regards Kemp and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger as RINOs (Republicans In Name Only) for acknowledging that now-President Joe Biden won Georgia fairly and did not steal the election.

GOP lost it when Clinton didn’t turn over her private emails — now Meadows is doing the same: analyst

It was revealed Wednesday that former chief of staff Mark Meadows handed over some of his communications from his time serving in the White House. Among those were his personal emails and text messages. But as the House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol revealed, Meadows was using a personal email and phone while communicating with government officials. It's the same thing that Republicans told former Secretary Hillary Clinton was unacceptable.

To make matters worse, Meadows refused to turn over everything to the House committee.

Biden and Putin kick off Christmas season with 'useful meeting' — while Trump plays Grinch

Tuesday morning broke cold and crisp at the White House. By mid-morning dozens of reporters were stirring in their warm winter coats — lined up doing live shots on the north side of the campus.

Inside the building, with stockings hung by the fire with care, President Joe Biden began a two-hour telephone call with Vladimir Putin. The call came after the Russian president recently increased worldwide tension by massing troops inside Ukraine with the implicit threat of overrunning a country ruled by a former comedian. I cannot verify whether Putin growled, with his fingers nervously drumming.

Fox News host praises disgraced CEO for mass firing of 900 employees: 'I loved this so much'

Vishal Garg, CEO of the online mortgage company Better.com, is now admitting that he handled things badly during a mass firing on Wednesday, December 1. That day, during a Zoom call, Garg brought around 900 employees together online and announced that all of them were being fired — a move he now admits has “embarrassed” the company. But Fox News’ Emily Compagno is not only defending Garg — she is outright praising him for the mass firing.

During a December 8 broadcast of “Outnumbered” — which features mostly or entirely female panels and is often described as a right-wing version of “The View” — Compagno insisted that Garg had nothing to apologize for. The attorney told others on the panel, “I loved this, actually. I loved this so much…. So, for me, good riddance. And I feel bad that he’s now having to capitulate to the other execs at this company and apologize for it. Sorry guys, bye!”

WATCH: GOP governor goes off on Trump for his destructive ego at Joe Biden’s democracy summit

While many Republican elected officials cower in fear of Donald Trump, the popular Republican governor of Vermont didn't pull punches during a virtual address to President Joe Biden's Summit for Democracy.

Pearl Harbor water crisis blamed on 'failed infrastructure': report

This week, Americans remembered the bombing of Pearl Harbor 80 years ago. World War II soldiers gathered to remember those who died and heroes who would rise to risk their own lives to save others. But, behind the scenes, those currently living and serving in Pearl Harbor couldn't even drink the water coming out of their pipes.

CNN.com reported that the failed infrastructure in Hawaii led the state's Department of Health to alert the Navy that they must take action to clean their drinking water after they found a petroleum leak near Honolulu.

'No evidence of widespread voter fraud': Trump's conspiracies debunked by another conservative probe

The conservative Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty tried -- but failed -- to come up with evidence that Donald Trump won his election in the state.

The organization conducted a 10-month investigation parallel to one by Republican state legislators and found that certain election procedures might not have been adequately followed, but found nothing to support Trump's claims that he should have won Wisconsin's electors, reported the Washington Post.

GOP leaders increasingly at odds as House Republicans rage against McConnell: report

On Thursday, writing for CNN, correspondents Manu Raju and Melanie Zanona revealed how increasing frustration from the House GOP over Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is creating new tension in the Republican Party.

"With control of both chambers at stake in next year's midterms, the two top Republican leaders have increasingly taken sharply divergent positions on major issues dominating Congress," said the report. "With a 50-seat minority in a chamber where 60 votes are needed to get anything done, the GOP's longest-serving Senate leader has been forced to cut deals with Democrats and President Joe Biden — accords that have run into a buzzsaw of opposition from McCarthy and House Republicans. McConnell, more than 20 years McCarthy's senior, believes they can govern as the GOP fights tooth-and-nail to derail much of the Biden agenda."

Jan. 6 committee can force Trump allies to testify whether they want to or not -- here's how

Some key witnesses in the Jan. 6 investigation have signaled they intend to invoke their Fifth Amendment rights, but the House select committee has some options for obtaining their testimony.

Conservative attorney John Eastman, who drafted a strategy to block certification of Joe Biden's election win; former Justice Department lawyer Jeffrey Clark; and longtime Trump ally Roger Stone have all indicated they will invoke their constitutional right against self-incrimination, but that doesn't entirely get them off the hook, reported Politico.

Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) ripped some of Donald Trump's strongest allies in Congress as "villains" with bad intentions.

The New York Democrat appeared Thursday on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," where he dismissed House minority leader Kevin McCarthy's aspirations to become speaker of the House as a "fantasy," saying that voters would reject a situation that put Trump loyalists in charge.
