In a series of tweets, Huffington Post reporter Jennifer Bendery went Republican by Republican retweeting their celebrations of America and called them out for their attempts to bring down the country's democracy.

The pretend patriotism may look good for social media posts by lawmakers, but as Bendery pointed out, these same members time and time again refuse to uphold the foundation of America itself.

Some are wondering if Donald Trump Jr. forgot that his father isn't president.

His Independence Day tweet mirrored statements from his father about the "haters," but he then mocked anyone who said that they were "moving to Canada."

President Joe Biden celebrated America with military families on the lawn of the White House Sunday, addressing the country with a positive message about the country returning from the horrors of the COVID-19 pandemic.

There was nothing political about his speech. It was filled with salutes to the nation's military, first responders and public servants who helped the country make it through the past few years.

It has been reported that the Surfside, Florida condo that collapsed last month had serious structural issues. But the New York Times reported Sunday evening that even law enforcement was aware that the necessary improvements weren't being made.

"The city of North Miami Beach had tried and failed for years to bring a 10-story condo building within its borders, Crestview Towers, into compliance with the 40-year recertification requirements," the report explained. "When the building's condo association finally submitted the required paperwork last week, about nine years late, it documented critical safety concerns, a city spokesman said. Officials evacuated the building on Friday."

In a discussion with CNN's Jim Acosta, former federal prosecutor Jennifer Rogers explained that a recent explanation by Donald Trump Jr. on Fox News doesn't exactly make sense.

In an interview with Jesse Waters, Don Jr. tried to downplay the charges against Allen Weisselberg, explaining that it isn't really all that much money he owes in taxes.

President Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka Trump is in about as much trouble as Allen Weisselberg is, according to biographer Michael D'Antonio.

Speaking to CNN's Jim Acosta on Sunday, D'Antonio explained that the kinds of things that Weisselberg is accused of are similar to things that Ivanka Trump also did while working for the Trump Organization.

Former Manhattan District Attorney chief assistant Daniel R. Alonso and former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner explained Sunday that Donald Trump will likely go through some things as his company faces indictment.

Alonso explained that the recent 15-count indictment alone is serious, but it's early on in the six-month grand jury.

Saturday during a Florida rally, a sweaty President Donald Trump pretended not to know anything about the taxes he was accused of avoiding. But Trump's claims contrast considerably with statements from 2016, in which Trump had another take entirely.

"They go after good, hard-working people for not paying taxes on a company car," Trump told his audience. "A company car. You didn't pay tax on the car. Or a company apartment. You used an apartment because you need an apartment because you have to travel too far where your house is. You didn't pay tax. Oh, education for your grandchildren. I don't even know. do you have to -- does anybody know the answer to that stuff?"

Republican lawmakers flocked to Twitter and Facebook Sunday to celebrate America with their flag-waving memes and quotes from founding fathers. It was all enough to make Republican consultant Ana Navarro roll her eyes, she told CNN's Jim Acosta.

"You know, I think [Republicans] have chosen to put all their steaks and all their eggs in the basket of Trump," said Navarro, referring to the former president. "Worship at the altar of Trump. You know, it's so hypocritical and so unseemly and unstatesmanlike. I was really trying not to have my eyes roll to the back of my head as I read posts from some of these same GOP elected officials who voted against the bipartisan commission threatening our democracy. An insurrection against the peaceful transfer of power, which is such a key part of our Constitution and our government and our democracy."

Far-right activist Allen West moved from Florida to Texas after he lost his Congressional seat, where he took over the Republican Party. But on Sunday, from the pulpit of the Sojourn Church in Carrollton, Texas, West was welcomed to announce his campaign for governor with an extensive speech and campaign video.

"Join us in this fight," said West, inviting the congregation to work to elect him.

Roger Stone associate Kristin Davis is behind a new column blaming Women for America First for being behind the organizing of the "Stop the Steal" rally and saying that Stone had nothing to do with it, reporter Nancy Levine discovered Sunday.

Writing in a conspiracy theory publication, Davis explained that all Stone did was stand outside his hotel with an entourage waiting for a car to pick them up.

Writing for The New York Times, former impeachment witness Norm Eisen joined with top lawyers to argue that America's systems are working as they should. They called it the "resilience of American federalism" to do what federal officials can't or aren't willing to do.

While these charges don't include Donald Trump, the lawyers argue that they're as close as anyone can come to a former president being indicted.

Bloomberg News reported Thursday that in the lawsuit between Dominion Voting Systems and Rudy Giuliani, lawyers are seeking emails between the defendant and Fox News.

Dominion is suing Fox News, Rudy Giuliani, Mike Lindell and MyPillow and Sidney Powell after those individuals spread lies that the company's equipment stole the election as part of a plot involving a long-dead leader of Venezuela. Those involved are alleged to have done lasting damage to the company's name with unfounded conspiracy theories prompting the $1.6 billion litigation.
