Journalist details 15 of the most damning allegations in sexual misconduct complaint against Giuliani

After the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Rudy Giuliani's admirers in the mainstream press hailed him as "America's mayor." Giuliani, in those days, had a reputation for being a moderate Republican who had no problem making bipartisan deals with Democrats. When he gave a very nuanced speech at the 2004 Republican National Convention, the former New York City mayor's presence was obviously designed to make then-President George W. Bush seem more moderate than he actually was.

But Giuliani took a far-right turn the 2010s, closely allying himself with President Donald Trump and the MAGA movement. And in 2020, he aggressively promoted Trump's false, thoroughly debunked claim that the presidential election had been stolen from him.

Lawsuit against Giuliani could also reveal money laundering, Ukraine meddling and Trump's election fraud: accuser

A new lawsuit was filed Monday against Rudy Giuliani alleging wage theft, sexual harassment, money laundering, selling of pardons, and a number of other accusations by former staffer Noelle Dunphy. Giuliani responded by saying that she had never worked for him.

"Now the lawsuit, to be clear, it's about Rudolph Giuliani as described, luring this woman, who he finds attractive into working for him, promising her to pay her a million dollars a year, which he can't pay her right now because he's trying to hide money from his wife while he's in divorce proceedings," described MSNBC host Lawrence O'Donnell during his Monday evening show. "And if she just waits until the divorce is over, which is way more than the year in the story that is told, then she will be paid retroactively all the money that she's owed."

To right-wing firebrand author Ann Coulter, the Daily Wire's Ben Shapiro and other Ron DeSantis cheerleaders, the Florida governor is the Republican Party's best chance to free itself from Donald Trump in 2024. DeSantis has yet to make a formal announcement, but he appears to be gearing up for a presidential run. And his supporters are quick to point out that he was reelected by 19 percent in 2022.

However, Kari Lake — the far-right conspiracy theorist, election denialist and former television reporter who lost to Democratic Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs last year — is urging DeSantis not to run. Moreover, Lake believes the GOP should cancel its 2024 presidential primary, nominate Trump immediately and rally around him.
