According to a report from CNN -- based upon a tell-all book about the Donald Trump White House -- former first lady Melania Trump was just as obsessed with what people were saying about her in the news and social media as her fame-obsessed president husband.

Relying on excerpts from former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham's upcoming blockbuster memoir "I'll Take Your Questions Now," revealing inner White House doings, CNN reports that Melania -- despite her above-it-all demeanor -- cared deeply about how she was perceived and what was written about her in the press.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) on Thursday lashed out at CNN host Don Lemon over criticism of the congressman's grilling of Defense Department officials.

During his Thursday night program, Lemon accused Gaetz of "grandstanding" and "trolling" with his questioning of Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Gen. Mark Milley.

Reid's comments have inspired a great deal of discussion, and in the Bay Area, anchor Frank Somerville has been suspended by KTVU-TV Channel 2 (a Fox affiliate) after a dispute over a tagline that would have noted the disparity Reid pointed out.

According to Bay Area News Group reporter Chuck Barney, "KTVU was prepared to air a news report detailing the latest developments in the case. Somerville wanted to add a brief tagline at the end of the report that questioned the extraordinary level of media coverage devoted to the story. Sources said he wanted to point out that the U.S. media often disproportionately covers tragedies involving young white women, while largely ignoring similar cases involving women of color and indigenous people."

Fox News host Howard Kurtz said that he felt attacked by his viewers after reporting the results of a so-called audit of Arizona's 2020 presidential election.

On his Sunday news program, Kurtz noted that former President Donald Trump had "unloaded" on the media's reporting of the audit, which was conducted by Cyber Ninjas.

NBC's Meet the Press faced criticism on Sunday after allowing Meghan McCain to lie about the popularity of President Joe Biden's Build Back Better agenda.

"I will say that President Biden ran on being a moderate," McCain explained during a panel segment on the program. "He ran and won with the help of independent, centrists, Trump-wary Republicans and he's not governing as one."

Fox News host Chris Wallace on Sunday grilled Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) about his promise to end rape in the state instead of giving abortion rights to victims of rape and incest.

Abbott recently made the promise to end rape after his state passed a law to ban all abortions after six weeks of pregnancy.

Fox News host Lawrence Jones announced on Thursday that the network is pursuing an interview with a Border Patrol agent who has been accused of whipping at Haitian migrants.

Earlier this week, the White House announced that some agents had been placed on leave after they were seen on horseback using a whip-like cord to control migrants.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki disputed Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy on Wednesday after he claimed that the Biden administration has not worked to pass immigration legislation.

Doocy made the allegation during a White House briefing.

Conservative broadcaster Steve Bannon admitted on Wednesday that he had plotted with President Donald Trump to "kill the Biden presidency in the crib" ahead of the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

During his Warroom broadcast, Bannon played clips of journalist Robert Costa and Bob Woodward explaining how events unfolded prior to the Jan. 6 riot.
