Republican senators say solving the opioid epidemic requires more than just fighting fentanyl

WASHINGTON — Officials from Customs and Border Protection and Homeland Security Investigations came to the U.S. Senate Appropriations subcommittee Tuesday to answer questions about fentanyl, drug trafficking, and transnational crime.

But when Raw Story caught up to some of the Republican senators, they confessed that fighting fentanyl is a lot easier than solving the drug crisis and the opioid epidemic.

Judge sets deadline after Trumps stop turning over documents in fraud case: report

Forbes reported on Wednesday that Donald Trump and his three eldest children who worked at the Trump Organization have failed to turn over emails and other communications requested in the fraud suit from New York Attorney General Letitia James.

A letter submitted to the court last week revealed “an unexplained drop-off in emails for Ivanka Trump” as another one of the issues for the investigators. The request comes from the fraud investigation into the Trump Organization's business practices. Already, Trump has been forced to pay $110,000 in fines because Judge Arthur Engoron found the former president in contempt because he wouldn't comply with a subpoena.

Ammon Bundy has no lawyer as he demands latest case be moved to federal court

Ammon Bundy, of Bundy Ranch infamy, is seeking to have a defamation case moved to a federal court, according to local Idaho news outlet KTVB.

The lawsuit was filed in February by St. Luke’s Health System and the petitioners are asking for punitive damages of $7.5 million. At issue was a claim that the hospital took a child named "Baby Cyrus" from his parents.

Democratic senators blow up Republican talking point that Supreme Court ethics bill is purely partisan

WASHINGTON — The Senate Judiciary hearing erupted on Tuesday with Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) proclaiming that the only reason Democrats are freaking out about the ethics of Supreme Court Justices is to specifically target conservatives.

"I learned that all of this is subterfuge, to try to put pressure on the court," Kennedy told Raw Story after the hearing. He went on to say that nothing would happen because of the "way the Democrats went about it." Kennedy said that regardless of whether or not the lawmakers agreed with Democrats about the necessity for ethics rules or enforcement mechanisms, he didn't like their attitude.

National security analyst Marcy Wheeler observed a note posted among U.S. federal court filings indicating Jan. 6 attacker Aaron Mostofsky violated his probation.

Mostofsky is known as the "caveman" for his fur costume with a skinned fox head during the storming of the U.S Capitol. He carried a walking stick. He is the son of Kings County Supreme Court Judge Steven Mostofsky, and his brother is Nachman Mostofsky, the vice president of the South Brooklyn Conservative Club.
