Lead lawyer abandons Trump ally ahead of jury selection in lobbying case

Former Donald Trump Presidential Inauguration Committee chief Tom Barrack has just lost his lawyer.

The New York Law Journal revealed on Tuesday that Barrack's lawyer, O’Melveny & Myers partner Daniel Petrocelli, was leaving Barrack as jury selection is getting started. It was reported Monday that Barrack's team had been trying to eliminate any potential juror that ever made a disparaging comment about Donald Trump. Trump is not involved in the lawsuit.

Republicans should answer whether they agree the 2020 election should be a 'do-over': MSNBC producer

MSNBC producer for Rachel Maddow, Steve Benen, couldn't help but take the next step after former President Donald Trump announced that he wants a 2020 "new election immediately." Given the support Trump has in the Republican Party, Benen asked whether other GOP officials are ready to support this plan.

It has been 22 months since Trump lost the election, Benen wrote. Up until this point, Trump has maintained that he won the 2020 election. He even tried to change the results in several states and his campaign falsified documents attempting to swap out the electors. But in his latest rant, Trump admits he lost by demanding the 2020 election be redone.

Republican Party refusing to pay Trump's legal bills over Mar-a-Lago documents scandal: report

ABC News reporter Jonathan Karl wrote in his post-Donald Trump administration book that on Jan. 20, as Trump was flying from the White House for the final time, he spoke to the head of the Republican Party and threatened to start his own party. RNC chair Ronna Romney McDaniel reportedly told Trump that if he started a third party that the RNC would stop paying his legal bills, which were costing the party millions.

Politico reported Tuesday, however, that that decision has ended. According to the report, any legal fees having to do with Trump's retention of government documents is not being paid by the RNC.

The parent company of Alex Jones' InfoWars agreed in bankruptcy court that it wouldn't fight the second lawsuit against him from a Sandy Hook family that was the target of harassment, ABC News reported.

It was just a few weeks ago that Jones' company filed for bankruptcy despite revelations that they had millions in profits. In Texas, Jones was told to pay over $45 million, however, Texas doesn't allow people to collect that amount. They limit it to $750,000. In Connecticut, however, there is no cap.

Among the information that was seized at Mar-a-Lago was a document about French President Emmanuel Macron. And according to Donald Trump it was about his sex life, Rolling Stone reported on Monday evening.

Embattled Texas megachurch pastor quits after admitting to 'unhealthy' Instagram relationship

Matt Chandler, the lead pastor at the Village Church, which operates under the Southern Baptist Convention, announced this week that he's resigning his position after having an Instagram relationship. Chandler, who is married with three children, told his flock, "I fell short."

Christianity Today explained that the elders in the church were made aware Chandler's online messages and reviewed some of the comments he'd made on the social media site. They found that the direct messages he exchanged "revealed something unhealthy."
