Lopez was the only one who never appealed his case after being found guilty of first-degree robbery and the beating of a jogger in Central Park in 1989. 'A tested formula': Columnist explains how the GOP spreads misinformation 'to brainwash its base'

Daily Beast columnist Wajahat Ali penned an extensive expose on how the Republican Party is able to manipulate their voter into believing lies and acting out on their behalf.

It's been mere weeks since the Republican Party decided to go all-in on attacking a 10-year-old who'd been raped and impregnated. The girl was forced to go to Indiana because she was three days over the six-week cutoff date for Ohio abortions. Attorney General Dave Yost doubted the rape ever happened, on national television saying that he'd never heard of a police report or a rape kit being done.

John Oliver came back from the summer break to walk Americans through inflation and explain what the cause actually was while politicians on both sides are blaming each other.

The "Last Week Tonight" host began with the 2020 COVID-19 crisis, which drove up demand and killed the supply chain. He illustrated this by showing a large frog statue with its legs spread, and painted with "a hand-applied emerald Verde patina."

'What's his policy on how to stage a coup?': Jim Acosta knocks Trump for 'returning to the scene of the crime' in DC

CNN's Jim Acosta took a shot at former President Donald Trump after it was announced he was returning to Washington, D.C. for the first time since he famously flew out in the early dawn of Jan. 20, 2021.

Marc Lotter, who works at the pro-Trump nonprofit organization, spoke to Acosta on Sunday, claiming that no one cares about the public hearings of the House Select Committee and the attack on Jan. 6. While the committee has drawn millions in ratings, the number of people watching it live on television as it's unfolding is lower than those who generally vote in an election. The majority of Americans se the hearings after, clips from the hearing, evidence from the hearings or coverage for the days that follow aren't included in those rating numbers. It's likely why public opinion has turned against Trump and favors the House Select Committee.

The House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on Congress and the attempt to overthrow the election held its eighth hearing Thursday evening, in what some have described as a kind of "season finale, not a series finale."

Rep.
