Democrats attending Jan. 6 hearing call 'sociopathic' Trump a 'corrupt disgusting individual'

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The audience of the House Select Committee was filled with more elected officials than have been seen over the past several hearings. Among those that attended the eighth hearing were some Democrats who left the room during the break to express their fury about what they saw.

Rep. Joaquin Castro (D-TX) told Raw Story that he wanted to be in the room on Thursday to remember what happened on Jan. 6. He said that he truly hopes that it doesn't happen again, but that starts with prosecutions.

Josh Hawley captured on film running for his life after fist pump for Jan. 6 rioters

Among the revelations from the House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on Congress, they detailed Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) who was pictured pumping his fist in the air in support of the attackers.

Yet, when the Capitol was breached, and the attackers were flooding the building and making their way onto the floor, Hawley was filmed running for his life.

Trump's attack on Secret Service in motorcade confirmed by security official's testimony

The House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 revealed a national security official and a former Washington D.C. metro police officer who were able to confirm Donald Trump's anger about not being taken to the U.S. Capitol.

'They enabled Donald Trump': Secret Service expert gives list of all of the things they messed up in 2020

Washington Post reporter Carol Leonnig, who has spent nearly a decade reporting on the Secret Service listed off some of the most egregious behavior by the USSS in culminating in 2021 with the attack on the U.S. Capitol and a possible physical encounter with then President Donald Trump and sudden loss of documents.

Speaking to MSNBC on Thursday ahead of the eighth public hearing for the House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on Congress, Leonnig listed off everything from CDC violations to roughing up protesters of Donald Trump.

Watergate prosecutor reveals why the Secret Service would have wanted to delete Jan. 5 and 6 messages

Former Watergate prosecutor Nick Akerman suggested one of the reasons that the Secret Service might want to intentionally delete evidence of Jan. 5 and 6 in a panel discussion ahead of the eight public hearing from the House Select Committee.

Akerman harkened back to the story of Vice President Mike Pence refusing to get into the Secret Service vehicles on Jan. 6 as they were in the holding location. According to testimony from his chief of staff, Marc Short, Pence told his chief of security that he trusted him, but that he wasn't driving the car. The presumption is that Pence didn't trust the agent driving the car.

Injuries reported after brawl breaks out between two families at Disney World

The heat index in the shade of Disney World in Kissimmee, Florida is 96 degrees with very little wind. Heads grew hot between two families that broke out into a brawl at the Magic Kingdom park.

Walt Disney World News Today posted an initial report with the video on Thursday showing one family dressed in regular clothing and another group in matching red and white Disney-themed clothes. A woman left the line at Mickey's PhilharMagic theater to get her cellphone she'd left on a motorized wheelchair. When she tried to get back in line with her family the other family flipped out.

Page Six is reporting on a new book by Tom Bower, Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors, that alleges the top racist in Buckingham Palace is Camilla Parker Bowles, the second wife of the forthcoming King of England.

In a 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey the Duke of Sussex revealed that prior to the birth of their son, an unnamed family member asked what color baby Archie's skin would be. The Duchess said that there were "several conversations" but the Duke said “That conversation, I am never going to share. At the time, it was awkward, I was a bit shocked.”

Jan. 6 committee member reveals the Secret Service agents retained a private lawyer

Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-CA) revealed on MSNBC Thursday that agents with the U.S. Secret Service have retained their own outside lawyer after it was announced that they were potentially facing criminal prosecution for failing to preserve documents, an ongoing demand of all federal government agencies.

MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace asked if it was new that they had private counsel or if they had just retained the private lawyer. Lofgren said she believes that it's a new person.

Lost body cam footage raises questions after officer shoots unarmed Black teen with raised hands

A 13-year-old boy, was paralyzed after Chicago police officer, Noah Ball, opened fire on him while he had his hands up. But according to the Daily Beast, the videos the family showed them have a glaring omission: the body camera footage of the officer that shot the boy.

It shows a chase and different angles of the shooting, but the video of the officer who shot the teen doesn't begin until after the teen was shot.

The investigation into missing Secret Service text messages is now a criminal probe: NBC News

NBC News Pete Williams and Julia Ainsley are reporting that the inspector general's investigation into the Department of Homeland Security over the missing text messages from Jan. 5 and 6, 2021, has now become a criminal probe. The results of what unfolded could also be referred to federal prosecutors for indictment.

"The DHS Inspector General informed the Secret Service on Wednesday evening that the investigation is now criminal and that it should halt all internal investigations on the missing text messages," a letter relayed to reporters says.

Harvard logs behavior of 417 Capitol rioters — while survey shows 18 million Americans willing to kill over politics

A new Harvard Institute of Politics survey collected comments from 417 of the Jan. 6 attackers, and an overwhelming number of said they were there because former President Donald Trump told them to be.

According to the data, which was published by NBC News, 'about the same number of defendants in the study claimed they were at the Capitol to 'peacefully protest' (7 percent) as those who claimed they were there because of a 'general interest in violence' (6.2 percent)."

'I smell a rat': J6 panelist questions the Secret Service's 'disappeared' text messages from Jan. 6

WASHINGTON, D.C. — It was revealed on Tuesday evening that the U.S. Secret Service turned over a single text message from what their agents exchanged on Jan. 5 and 6.

Ahead of a data migration, the Secret Service received four requests from congressional committees to preserve records on Jan. 16, but on Jan. 25 they moved through a migration process anyway, despite knowing the data wasn't backed up to comply with the subpoenas.

MAGA world is going to have a hard time attacking Thursday's witnesses at Jan. 6 committee: Former Trump aide

Former White House communications director Alyssa Farah Griffin said that former President Donald Trump's allies in "MAGA world" are going to have a hard time trying to destroy the witnesses coming before the House Select Committee in the public hearing on Thursday.

Speaking to CNN, Griffin explained that Sarah Matthews, in particular, is a long-time Republican aide and she had been with Trump since the 2016 campaign.
