On Wednesday, all 11 Democratic members of the Senate Judiciary Committee sent a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland, demanding that he turn over a secret memo from Attorney General William Barr on why former President Donald Trump was not prosecuted for obstruction of former special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation.

The letter argues that "the Senate Judiciary Committee has equities in this matter" — and gave Garland 15 days to either turn over the memo, or explain his justification for not doing so.

Speaking to MSNBC's Ari Melber on Wednesday, Michael Cohen warned that Allen Weisselberg would suffer the consequences of the Trump Organization's corruption.

Cohen was cited as someone fully cooperating with Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance about Weisselberg, but Cohen explained he doesn't want to talk about his conversations with the DA's office. Ironically, Weisselberg was the one who threw Cohen under the bus during the investigations into hush-money payments from Trump.

This week, a landmark bill establishing Juneteenth as a national holiday overcame a major hurdle and passed the Senate after Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI), one of the last major objectors to the legislation, said he would let it move forward. It now moves to the House.

But the bill still has opponents. On Wednesday, Rep. Matt Rosendale (R-MT) said that he would not vote for the bill — and called it a sinister plot by the left to advance "critical race theory."

On Wednesday, writing for Above the Law, columnist Elizabeth Dye roasted Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) for suggesting in a hearing earlier in the week that the Justice Department should pursue a 2020 election conspiracy theory involving Italian satellites that Trump had pushed in conversation with the DOJ.

"That is a problem," Jordan said, attacking the DOJ officials who had dismissed Trump's rants as "pure insanity." "When the chief of staff to the president of the United States asks someone in the executive branch to do something, and they basically give him the finger, I think that's the problem we should be looking into."

Steve Bannon was indicted when he attempted to fund a border wall for the United States, but Texas Gov. Greg Abbott thinks he can make it work.

According to CNN reporter Ed Lavandera, Abbott announced Wednesday that Texas would build its own wall and Texans can donate their own land or their money to the project. He didn't say if it would be a state tax deduction or if there would be any financial benefit to the donation.

MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace called the GOP bluff on liberal groups being behind the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Joining Bulwark's Charlie Sykes, former FBI counterintelligence deputy Frank Figliuzzi and NBC's Scott MacFarlane, Wallace asked if Republican officials are so insistent that Antifa and other liberal groups were behind the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol then they should want an investigation into them. Instead, the same far-right officials and media figures continue to deny the Jan. 6 commission.

Former president Donald Trump announced Tuesday that he "accepted the invitation" to tour Texas' southern border with Gov. Greg Abbott on June 30.

"The Biden Administration inherited from me the strongest, safest, and most secure border in U.S history and in mere weeks they turned it into the single worst border crisis in U.S history. It's an unmitigated disaster zone," Trump said in a statement.

The Justice Department has closed its criminal investigation into whether a memoir by former President Donald Trump's national security adviser, John R. Bolton, illegally shared classified information, The New York Times reports.

A lawsuit filed by the DOJ to recoup the book's potential profits has also been dropped.

Things didn't go well when Washington D.C. Metro cop Michael Fanone finally caught up to Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-GA) on Wednesday.

According to Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) and Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA), Fanone extended his hand to the Republican and Clyde refused to shake it.

Cellphone footage obtained by WKRN shows off-duty police officer Mathew Ward, 31, pull a gun on another driver during a road rage incident.

After pulling the gun, Ward can be seen telling the driver to lay on the ground. He has since resigned from the Decherd Police Department after being suspended over the incident.

After extensive pressure from activists, lawmakers, former lawmakers, the NAACP and other organizations, Joe Manchin is finally revealing what he would be open to as part of the new voting rights legislation.

According to NBC News, Manchin would be willing to support Election Day as a federal holiday when people get the full day to be able to vote, including standing in line for hour upon hour. He also said that he'd support 15 consecutive days of early voting for federal elections mandated in all states, "and automatic voter registration through state departments of motor vehicles."
