Trump denies Arizona Republicans pardons for Capitol insurrection

Arizona Republican Reps. Paul Gosar and Andy Biggs begged President Donald Trump for a pardon but it appears that they won't be getting them.

The Arizona Mirror reported Tuesday, citing a CNN report, about the president's decision not to include his children and insurrection participants in the pardons meant that he would have to detail the crimes that they committed. Doing so would admit to the actual crimes. In the case of Gosar and Biggs, it would mean that they would admit culpability in the attack on the U.S. Capitol. That would make things difficult for other Republicans involved like Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Josh Hawley (R-MO). It also wouldn't prevent any of the men from being named in civil lawsuits.

On CNN Tuesday, Daily Beast reporter Will Sommer said that some of the rioters who invaded the U.S. Capitol were convinced they were fulfilling the prophecy of the QAnon conspiracy theory.

Trump wielded toxic masculinity as a weapon — and it hurt America

Donald Trump's White House presidency ended as it started, with his noxious interpretation of masculinity — and his equally pernicious understanding of femininity — front and center.

In the final weeks of the 2016 campaign, a tape surfaced of Trump bragging about sexual assault, saying that "when you're a star" you can "grab 'em by the pussy, you can do anything." Within a few weeks, more than a dozen women had accused the real estate developer of various forms of sexual harassment and assault. He was elected anyway. The day after his inauguration, a crowd roughly three times the size of his gathered in the same spot as part of the largest single-day protest in U.S. history. They carried signs to reclaim his comment: "This pussy grabs back!"

Milwaukee newspaper crushes Sen. Ron Johnson by fact-checking his response to its resignation demand

Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson tried his hand today at picking a fight with people who buy ink by the barrel. It didn't go so well.

In a rather extraordinary move, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel offered Johnson space to respond to its editorial calling for his resignation, only to annotate his commentary with no less than 19 footnotes. Suffice it to say the fact-checking in response to his response was brutal.
