In GOP bid for NY governor, Andrew Giuliani attempts to emerge from his father’s long shadow

NEW YORK — On a recent spring day, just steps from New York’s City Hall, Andrew Giuliani stood with his father, former Mayor Rudy Giuliani, and the former Republican mayoral candidate Curtis Sliwa, inveighing about crime and the district attorneys elected to prosecute criminals. He railed against the “defund the police” movement and vowed to restore funding to departments throughout New York State. He decried bail reform. And he promised that, if elected, he would move to recall prosecutors who have taken an approach that he views as far too soft on criminals. Alvin Bragg, the Manhattan distri...

Giuliani-endorsed anti-fraud service faces scrutiny over questionable crime claims

On Tuesday, ABC News ran a story analyzing the dubious claims made by "Home Title Lock," a Rudy Giuliani-endorsed security company that has deluged the airwaves with ads featuring right-wing celebrities urging people to protect themselves against a supposed wave of fraudulent home title transfers.

"The prolific ads urgently warn of a scam called 'home title theft,' when a con artist fraudulently claims ownership of someone else's home to swindle lenders or even sell the property," reported Mike Levine. "In several commercials, Giuliani, Gingrich and other pitchmen claim the FBI classifies home title theft as 'one of the fastest-growing' crimes in America. Some marketing materials also showcase people who've been identified as 'real victims' — a 'devastated' Texas cowboy and a Florida-raised grandmother whose 'heart-wrenching story of losing her rightfully-owned home is occurring all too often nationwide.'"

MSNBC hosts: Trump may have plotted from the beginning to craft a conspiracy

The evening after the second public House Select Committee hearing on the Jan. 6 attack on Congress and the 2020 election, MSNBC hosts cited a clip of Rep. Liz Cheney's (R-WY) comments that could indicate some of Donald Trump's early plots to overthrow the election.

"The president understood even before the election that many more [Joe] Biden voters had voted by mail because President Trump ignored the advice from his campaign experts and told his supporters only to vote in person," said Cheney. "Donald Trump knew before the election that the counting of those mail-in ballots in several states would not begin until late in the day, and would not be complete for multiple days. This was expected, reported, and widely known. You will also hear testimony that President Trump rejected the advice of his campaign experts on election night. And instead, followed the course or recommendations by an apparently inebriated Rudy Giuliani, to just claim he won, and insist that the vote counting stop."
