"The View's" Meghan McCain revealed that she was traumatized watching the airing of the Capitol attack videos during the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump.

Comparing it to 9/11, she said that watching the attacks and feeling the sense of panic and fear again was hard. It's a sentiment shared by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's staff, who were photographed watching the impeachment as footage of them trying to escape was shown during the trial.

"The View" co-host Meghan McCain warned conspiracy-mongering Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) would get elected president if Democrats didn't stop making fun of Republicans.

McCain has made similar threats in the past about former president Donald Trump, who she now thinks should be impeached for inciting the Capitol insurrection, but now she's got a new cudgel.

"The View's" Meghan McCain seemed to have a moment of realization on Monday that the Republican Party may have abandoned her and those like her.

Over the weekend it was revealed that House Republican Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) told Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) that she needed to apologize for voting to support impeachment. Cheney, who was among nine other Republicans to support impeachment, obviously refused to apologize. She was censured by the Wyoming Republican Party, however. It's something McCain should understand because her own mother was censured by the Arizona GOP just a few weeks ago for endorsing Joe Biden for president.

The co-hosts of "The View" were all furious at Republican Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) for bungling the situation with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Minority Whip Liz Cheney (R-WY).

Wednesday evening the GOP Caucus voted by secret ballot not to remove Cheney from the leadership post for voting to impeach former President Donald Trump. The vote was overwhelming with 145 members supporting her and 61 against.

The Black co-hosts of "The View" couldn't help but notice that the feud between Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Vice President Kamala Harris wasn't a good look for the white leader.

Harris gave an interview with a West Virginia station where she advocated for President Joe Biden's proposed COVID stimulus package directly to the members of Manchin's state. He was furious, saying "I couldn't believe it. No one called me. We're gonna try to find a bipartisan pathway forward. I think we need to. But we need to work together. That's not a way of working together, what was done."

The women of "The View" began their Monday "hot topics" with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), who had more videos come out over the weekend of her saying irrational things and spouting conspiracy theories.

Republican Meghan McCain, whose mother was just censured by the Arizona Republican Party, maintained that the new congresswoman was not representative of the GOP as a whole. Instead, she explained, it's the media who is making Greene into an icon.

"The View" co-host Meghan McCain snapped at moderator Joy Behar during an exchange over the GameStop stock market rally.

Although guest host Ana Navarro argued the Wall Street story wasn't as important as others making headlines this week, McCain jumped back in as the segment ended to follow up on the explanation she'd given earlier about Reddit users driving a hedge fund into tremendous losses after it has gambled heavily on the video game retailer's failure.

"The View" co-host Meghan McCain bashed fellow Republicans who are cynically trying to woo Donald Trump supporters with phony acts.

McCain has been saying the party is in shambles since Trump tried to overturn his election loss, and she ripped Nikki Haley and Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) for going along with the ousted president's lies as he faces impeachment for inciting an insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.

"The View" co-host Meghan McCain vowed she would never quit the Republican Party, no matter how far off the rails it flew, because it was her birthright.

Tuesday's episode aired about 24 hours before the couple will depart Washington, D.C., to avoid President-elect Joe Biden's inauguration, and the co-hosts were glad to see him go.

"The View" celebrated the birthday of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday by discussing race relations in the United States and how necessary it is to change hearts and minds of the remaining minority of Americans who still uphold racist ideologies.

Among those are many in the White House, who perpetuated the racist birther conspiracy about former President Barack Obama. Even First Lady Melania Trump was part of those who claimed that Obama wasn't born in the United States years before launching her anti-bullying campaign "Be Best."

"The View" co-host Meghan McCain is continuing to come to grips with the fact that the Republican Party she loves is going off the rails.

The conservative McCain, whose father John McCain served as a GOP senator and was the party's presidential nominee in 2008, is still reeling from the violent attack on the U.S. Capitol by President Donald Trump's supporters in an effort to overturn his election loss.
