Watch: James Comer snaps at hearing after Dem points to his 'fake informant that's gone missing'

Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) needled Rep. James Comer (R-KY) for admitting in a recent interview that Republicans had lost track of their top informant in the investigation into President Joe Biden and his family.

During a hearing about oversight of Washington, D.C., Moskowitz referred to Comer's recent interview on Fox News.

Pro-DeSantis PAC thinks it made a 'massive mistake' by airing accurate criticisms of Trump: report

Never Back Down, a political action committee supportive of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, made waves last week when it angered conservatives with accurate criticisms of former President Donald Trump.

In a tweet posted in the wake of Trump's CNN town hall, Never Back Down criticized Trump for talking about pardoning Capitol rioters who attacked police officers, as well as his suggestion that parts of the United States Constitution should be "terminated" to reinstall him in the Oval Office.

45 candidates running to get control over PA elections have spread election misinformation

When Zach Scherer woke up on Nov. 4, 2020, he was convinced something was wrong.

“When we all went to bed that night, Trump was up by millions of votes, but the next morning, we suddenly ‘lost’ by millions of votes,” he recalled recently on his website, repeating widely debunked misinformation. “It just didn’t make sense.”

So, he decided to do something about it, organizing a local group called Butler PA Patriots, which cited conspiracy theories to press the county government for election investigations and voting policy changes.

CNN staffers enraged at CEO's move to crush internal dissent over Trump town hall: report

CNN is reeling from overwhelmingly negative reviews of last week's town hall with former President Donald Trump at St. Anselm College in New Hampshire, during which he aggressively talked over moderator Kaitlan Collins, told a series of lies too fast to fact-check, and spoke to a hand-picked audience of hardcore Republicans who, while they were instructed not to boo the former president, were allowed to cheer and laugh as he mocked author E. Jean Carroll's account of how he allegedly raped her.

Now, according to The Daily Beast's Confider newsletter, CNN's chief Chris Licht is trying to force employees to toe the company line about it — and his threats and heavy-handedness are beginning to anger staffers.

MAGA election deniers did worse in 2022 than other Republicans — and Dems expect more 'implosions' in 2024

The 2022 midterm elections saw a predicted "red wave" fizzle out, as Republicans only barely won control of the House while losing ground in the Senate, governorships, and state legislatures. Some election observers have suggested that a big factor was the inability of several Republican candidates in key states like Arizona and Pennsylvania to accept the results of the 2020 election, pushing conspiracy theories about election fraud and rigging that turned off more mainstream voters and possibly discouraged hardcore Republicans from voting.

A new study reported by The New York Times suggests that is indeed what happened.

Ron DeSantis walks through all the ways that Donald Trump is a loser in the GOP

Fellow Republicans have been needling Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) as he deals with attacks and mockery from Donald Trump. The former president has attacked DeSantis for his record on Social Security and Medicare, but he's also hit DeSantis for eating pudding with his fingers during an event. Trump's favorite accusation seems to be that he "made" DeSantis in his own image, and ensured his success at a time DeSantis was thinking of dropping out of the race. DeSantis denies this.

In a Sunday comment, former Rep. Joe Walsh (R-IL) even predicted that DeSantis would never be capable of attacking back because he doesn't have the charisma or snark necessary to land a proper insult.

A judge is mulling Kari Lake’s last-ditch attempt to overturn the 2020 election

Kari Lake’s remaining hope of overturning the 2020 election is in the hands of a Maricopa County Superior Court judge after a May 12 hearing in which Maricopa County said her last-ditch effort is built on demonstrably false claims of malfeasance for which she has no evidence.

Lake, a Trump-endorsed election denier, lost her bid for Arizona governor six months ago, but has continued to insist that she, in fact, won because the election was rigged. Lake lost to Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs by more than 17,000 votes, and courts have repeatedly rejected Lake’s claims as evidence-free.

Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Peter Thompson on May 12 heard arguments over Lake’s claims that Maricopa County failed to follow ballot envelope signature verification that he initially dismissed in December, but that the Arizona Supreme Court remanded back to him after Lake appealed that ruling.
