Col. Earl Matthews, a D.C. National Guard official at the time, issued a scathing 36-page memo accusing Gen. Charles Flynn, who served as deputy chief of staff for operations on Jan. 6, and Lt. Gen. Walter Piatt, the director of Army staff, of lying to Congress about their response to the U.S. Capitol riot -- and the "Morning Joe" host said investigators must unravel the coordination between Donald Trump's White House and the Pentagon on that day.

MSNBC host Ayman Mohyeldin this week probed the radicalization of Rosanne Boyland, who died on Jan. 6, 2021 at the Capitol riots, on his latest podcast episode.

The new episode of the podcast, American Radical, dropped Monday and Mohyeldin interviews Boyland's family to ask how she went from an ordinarily happy woman to a quiet, scared conspiracy theorist. Family members recall her presence at Christmas in 2020 but noted she was on her phone the whole time and not engaging with them.

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough ripped a Republican lawmaker who shared a photo of his family decked out in Christmas attire and armed to the teeth with military-style rifles.

The "Morning Joe" co-hosts ran through a weekend's worth of dim-witted and menacing tweets posted by Republican politicians, but Scarborough was particularly disturbed by the photo shared by Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY).

Richard Spencer and many of those involved in what was previously called "the alt-right" spoke to CNN's Elle Reeve as the group faced the verdict in the civil suit that they ultimately lost. She's been following the white power and white supremacy movement since 2015, first starting at VICE News and now for CNN.

Spencer told Reeve that his real purpose was to be famous and that the people who followed him were really just jealous of his success and that they wanted to be famous too.

Former President Donald Trump bragged that he effectively obstructed justice during a Fox News interview.

Amid demands for Attorney General Merrick Garland to impanel a grand jury, Trump told Fox News that he simply had to fire former FBI Director James Comey. Otherwise, he could have been held accountable for his relationship with Russia during the 2016 election.

The Supreme Court agreed that it would make a decision on whether the Second Amendment right to carry a gun for "a well regulated Militia" means that far-right domestic terrorists, or even international terrorists, will have the freedom to conceal-carry weapons in public.

Saturday, a group of white supremacists marched through the streets of Washington, D.C., including through the Lincoln Monument, carrying upside-down flags and covering their faces with white masks and sunglasses. Presumably, the group was fearful that they would be recognized in photos and videos, which has become an effort over the past several years that ended careers and jobs. In the past, white supremacists would do the same, but wore white hoods.

Donald Trump's daughter-in-law Lara has her own show on Fox News where she can promote talking points from the campaign. But her discussion Sunday about President Joe Biden stressed her fears that the new president would be overtaken by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The statement is ironic given Trump was easily rolled by Putin. It's even been reported that evidence suggested Trump was even a foreign asset to Russia.

Former President Donald Trump has been mocked over the past several days for his bizarre rant while crashing a wedding and a grammatical error in a press release that ultimately called himself an idiot.

Speaking about the "pathetic" Trump, former Homeland Security aide and adviser to Vice President Mike Pence, Olivia Troye, also spoke out against chief of staff Mark Meadows for knowing that Trump was endangering staff in the White House.
