Democrats will show Manchin and Sinema over and over bipartisan legislation fails due to the filibuster: analyst

Speaking to CNN's Don Lemon on Tuesday, senior political analyst Ron Brownstein predicted that one of the things Democrats in the leadership might be doing is holding these votes over and over again to show Sens. Joe Manchin (R-WV) and Kyrsten Sinema that good, bipartisan legislation continues to die as a result of the filibuster.

Thus far it's happened with the COVID-19 stimulus, the Jan. 6 Commission bill, and even Manchin worked to make the voting rights legislation more conservative and Republicans still wouldn't stand with him.

If insurrectionists had a bin Laden logo — all cases would be considered terrorism: Ex-FBI agent explains why

Former FBI agent Clint Watts told Tara Setmayer and Rick Wilson that there is one small thing missing in the cases against the Jan. 6 insurrectionists and that's a terrorism charge.

Speaking on the Lincoln Project TV, Watts explained that if any of the Capitol attackers displayed a logo with Osama bin Laden on it then the Justice Department would link them all together as terrorists. Because they displayed a Proud Boys or Oath Keepers there's no way to consider them a network of terrorists.

Kyrsten Sinema cares more about being seen as ‘a quirky maverick’ than her actual policy positions: NYT writer

On Tuesday's edition of MSNBC's "All In," New York Times columnist Michelle Goldberg zeroed in on what she believes to be the real motivation of Rep. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), following her new Washington Post op-ed defending the filibuster rule.

"I think the starting place for analysis for understanding this is to understand that Kyrsten Sinema believes these things and isn't making a third-order calculation," said anchor Chris Hayes. "I mean, Mark Kelly's not doing this and he's got the same electorate to face. Tammy Baldwin is not doing this. This is just how she thinks things should be."

Maddow mocks Arizona audit movie done by the guy who also filmed 'aliens did 9/11' and killed JFK documentaries

MSNBC Rachel Maddow is sounding the alarm about the new movie discussing the Arizona audit will be done by the same filmmaker who did a documentary about the aliens being behind the attacks on Sept. 11. He also apparently filmed a documentary about the aliens killing former President John F. Kennedy and another film about Nazis having a moon base as early as the 1940s.

"His new movie, which comes out this week, is about the Arizona audit, the so-called audit of the Arizona presidential election result arranged by Republicans in the state legislature," explained Maddow. "That is the subject of his next movie. He appears to be sort of the authorized documentarian of the audit. The movie does feature all the big players. The opening scene in the trailer for the film is Ken Bennet, the Arizona Republican official who has served all this time as the spokesman for the audit. There he is talking to the Nazis on the moon, aliens did 9/11 filmmaker. Look at the background. He's at the site of the Arizona recount audit thing at that arena in Phoenix talking to the 'aliens did 9/11' filmmaker about the Arizona recount."

Trump's former bodyguard is the one who really knows where the bodies are buried: Ex-Trump Org executive

Speaking to MSNBC on Tuesday, former Trump Organization executive Barbara Res explained that while CFO Allen Weisselberg might know everything about financial documents, the person who really knows where the bodies are buried is Trump's former bodyguard.

The Wall Street Journal reported earlier Tuesday that Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance's office is now investigating Matthew Calamari, who, like Weisselberg, may have gotten "gifts" from Trump as another form of tax-free payment.

WATCH: Chuck Schumer compares Mitch McConnell to southern segregationists for blocking voting rights

On Tuesday, following Senate Republicans' lockstep vote to block debate on voting rights, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) gave a thunderous speech comparing Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to the southern segregationists who fought the 1965 Voting Rights Act.

"Republican state legislatures across the country are engaged in the most sweeping voter suppression in 80 years," said Schumer. "Capitalizing on and catalogued by Donald Trump's big lie. These state governments are making it harder for younger, poorer, urban and non-white Americans to vote. Earlier today, the Republican leader told reporters that, quote, 'Regardless of what may be happening in some states, there is no rationale for federal intervention.' The Republican leader flatly stated that no matter what the states do to undermine our democracy — voter suppression laws, phony audits, partisan takeovers of local election boards — the Senate should not act."

New report proves Trump continues to be a 'clear and present danger' to America: Republican strategist

Over the weekend it was revealed that a far-right fraudster created a fake think-tank housed in a mansion that wasn't hers to push a fake conspiracy theory about the 2020 election. While the woman has finally been exposed, former Bush/Cheney communications strategist Matthew Dowd argued that this proves Donald Trump and the GOP have become the danger to the United States.

"Here is why the Edwards fraudster matters in the bigger story of the fraud perpetrated on the American people by the disgraced ex-president," MSNBC Nicolle Wallace began. "That thing she runs, The Institute for good Governance, helps spread one of the most outlandish conspiracy theories of all. About how the ex-president and his aides claim the 2020 election was rigged." It's the conspiracy involving Italian satellites that were able to mark ballots from space.

Meghan McCain lashes out at faithful Joe Biden for doing 'great spiritual damage to himself and harm to the country'

"The View's" Meghan McCain lashed out at President Joe Biden for his pro-choice politics and anti-abortion beliefs conflicting with the Catholic church. It's part of an ongoing threat from the U.S. Catholic Bishops, who voted by 73 percent to deny Biden communion for his politics.

It has caused a huge rift in the church over the weekend, with parishioners who saw the church ignore Republican Catholics pushing policies antithetical to the church while Donald Trump was in office. The hypocrisy is something that co-host Sunny Hostin called out, noting that former Attorney General Bill Barr is Catholic, but ushered in the death penalty for federal crimes. Despite opposition to the death penalty, the Catholic church remained mum on it. She also noted that Newt Gingrich cheated on his wife with his now-wife Callista Gingrich, who ultimately became the Ambassador to the Vatican, without complaint from the church.

MSNBC host takes down 'spineless' Republicans who refused to stand up to dictators while Trump was in office

In just a short 60-second clip, MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan did an epic takedown of Republicans attacking President Joe Biden for what they called caving into Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The right-wing attacks on Biden began even before he met with Putin, with former DNI John Bolton claiming that Biden didn't know what he was doing. In fact, it was Bolton who didn't know what Biden was doing, as Biden wouldn't tell the public his demands of Putin before the meeting.
