Speaking to MSNBC on Monday, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) called out colleague Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) for refusing to cooperate with the House Select Committee investigating the attacks on Jan. 6.

Jordan was asked if he would speak to the committee, without a subpoena, and had been cooperating, according to chair Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS). However, after President Donald Trump intervened, Jordan said that he would no longer cooperate.

Former Vice President Mike Pence is telling aides that he may not cooperate with the House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

According to a New York Times report Monday, Pence said that he might refuse to cooperate because the committee voted to hold Mark Meadows and Steve Bannon in contempt of Congress and referred them to the Justice Department.

U.S. Sen. Mike Rounds (R-SD) angered former President Donald Trump this week by saying that the 2020 election was "fair."

Despite the fact that Trump angrily condemned Rounds for his accurate statement, the South Dakota senator isn't backing down.

But Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), a member of the committee, told Jordan that he should refer back to his own words during one of the many Benghazi hearings his party held last decade.

That ended, however, when former President Donald Trump intervened, according to a Punchbowl News report Monday. Jordan is now refusing to cooperate with the committee.

TMZ is reporting that Betty White's cause of death was a stroke. She had the stroke six days before her death but sources said that she was coherent and alert and seemed like she had no problems. Six days later, however, she died in her sleep.

Listed on her death certificate is a "cerebrovascular accident," the report said. It's a "loss of blood flow to part of the brain, resulting in brain tissue damage."

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) enraged his own party when he described, what some call, a failed coup at the Capitol as an example of domestic terrorism. After being attacked by Fox personality Tucker Carlson, Cruz had to come up with a reason he didn't mean what he said.

But what Cruz called it has sparked further discussion about the attack and the laws that deal with domestic terrorism in the United States. Most Republicans who agree the attack was terrorism have stayed quiet, likely fearful of former President Donald Trump, the tea party caucus or their own party voters who have turned increasingly right over the past decades.

It's unclear whether Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) simply can't remember what was discussed or he simply doesn't care. Either way, Democrats told Axios that dealing with the senator is "like negotiating via Etch A Sketch."

"You think you're just about there. You think you've got an agreement on most of the things and it's settling in. And then you come back the next morning and you're starting from scratch," Axios quoted one source explaining after making the Etch A Sketch analogy.

Speaking to Mehdi Hasan on MSNBC Sunday, Yale professor and expert on authoritarianism, Timothy Snyder, explained that there are a lot of Republicans who absolutely do not want to see the United States collapse, but their far-right GOP colleagues do.

Snyder rejected the question about whether President Joe Biden giving a speech is enough, saying that Biden can't hold America on his shoulders alone and that public pressure must be put on people like Sens. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) to support voting rights protections and ensure people aren't blocked from casting a ballot.

According to TMZ and the Daily Beast, comedian Bob Saget was found dead in an Orlando, Florida hotel room.

Saget, who played the fatherly role on "Full House," was also known for his raunchy stand-up. Saget was just 65.

Former President Donald Trump spent the anniversary of the Jan. 6 attack bragging about the size of the crowd of the people that were there that day for him. Trump had initially planned to have a press event at Mar-a-Lago during the prayer ceremony on Capitol Hill. He ultimately canceled it after some suspicion that no network was going to air it live.
