While there are many foolish mistakes made by those who attacked the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, Bryan Betancur's story may be among the craziest.

Betancur, a self-professed white supremacist, was on probation and wearing an ankle monitor when he drove from Silver Spring, Maryland to attack the U.S. Capitol with others.

Former President Donald Trump's Ohio rally is being mocked by many for being a celebration of a "loser." Now Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) is joining in on the mockery.

Speaking to CNN Sunday, Kinzinger called the rally, eight months after the election, "a rally for a loser."

Even among Catholic Republicans, 44 percent thought Biden should be able to receive. This put the majority of bishops not only on the extreme end of Catholic opinion generally but also at the far end of Catholic opinion even within the GOP."

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) was schooled by Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Mark Milley on Wednesday, leading to a right-wing meltdown on Fox News. Overnight, the Republican-promoting network lashed out at Gen. Milley saying that his comments about race and being well-read was enough for the military to be defunded.

"Before this, there are no known examples of one of the two major political parties in the United States calling for defunding the U.S. military over a simple desire to understand what was behind an attack against the United States Capitol and Constitution, as Milley made clear," said MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace. "Nor is there any precedent for defunding the military over intellectual curiosity but here we are."

Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell (CA) told MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace on Thursday that he doesn't expect Senate Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) to cooperate with the Jan. 6 Special Select Committee when the time comes.

Swalwell addressed the recent debate with McCarthy about meeting with D.C. Metro Police Officer Michael Fanone who has put in multiple requests to meet with.

Department of Homeland Security police were captured on video threatening to arrest people offering bottles of water to those standing in the Florida heat at the Miramar, Florida ICE check-in center.

Ron DeSantis agitator Thomas Kennedy posted the video Thursday showing good samaritans offering the water on a day that had 100-degree temperatures and south Florida's typical humidity.

Excerpts from Michael Bender's new book Frankly, We Did Win This Election reveal some profanity-laced rants between Rudy Giuliani and former President Donald Trump's campaign legal team.

The Daily Mail revealed the excerpt Thursday, though the book isn't going to be released until August. Bender's book cites 2020 campaign manager Bill Stepien and campaign lawyer Justin Clark, who walked Trump through the legal options. Giuliani, however, was "blowing it up," the book describes, "pushing his way further into the Oval Office."

Republican gubernatorial candidate Andrew Giuliani took to Twitter Thursday to rant about the recent decision to suspend his father from practicing law pending an investigation into his capacity to uphold the standards of the legal profession. The elder Giuliani is accused of lying in court multiple times.

The younger Giuliani claimed the whole incident was about politics and attacked the Justice Department.
