On Tuesday's edition of MSNBC's "All In," New York Times columnist Michelle Goldberg zeroed in on what she believes to be the real motivation of Rep. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), following her new Washington Post op-ed defending the filibuster rule.

"I think the starting place for analysis for understanding this is to understand that Kyrsten Sinema believes these things and isn't making a third-order calculation," said anchor Chris Hayes. "I mean, Mark Kelly's not doing this and he's got the same electorate to face. Tammy Baldwin is not doing this. This is just how she thinks things should be."

MSNBC Rachel Maddow is sounding the alarm about the new movie discussing the Arizona audit will be done by the same filmmaker who did a documentary about the aliens being behind the attacks on Sept. 11. He also apparently filmed a documentary about the aliens killing former President John F. Kennedy and another film about Nazis having a moon base as early as the 1940s.

"His new movie, which comes out this week, is about the Arizona audit, the so-called audit of the Arizona presidential election result arranged by Republicans in the state legislature," explained Maddow. "That is the subject of his next movie. He appears to be sort of the authorized documentarian of the audit. The movie does feature all the big players. The opening scene in the trailer for the film is Ken Bennet, the Arizona Republican official who has served all this time as the spokesman for the audit. There he is talking to the Nazis on the moon, aliens did 9/11 filmmaker. Look at the background. He's at the site of the Arizona recount audit thing at that arena in Phoenix talking to the 'aliens did 9/11' filmmaker about the Arizona recount."

On Tuesday, CBS 46 reported that an IKEA furniture store in Atlanta, Georgia triggered outrage with a plan to sell special menu items on Juneteenth: fried chicken and watermelon.

"A Juneteenth menu is serving up controversy at the Atlanta-based IKEA store, after employees said fried chicken and watermelon, were just a some items selected to honor Juneteenth," reported Tori Cooper. "CBS46 Tori Cooper spoke to IKEA employees and customers about the menu Monday. The employees we spoke to did not want to go on camera over fear of repercussions, but they said that management needs to do more to educate themselves on black culture moving forward."

On Tuesday, following a Daily Beast report that former President Donald Trump pushed the Justice Department to investigate the show "Saturday Night Live" for making fun of him, the former president released a statement angrily denying he did any such thing — but maintaining that SNL's satire of his behavior could somehow be illegal.

Satire is legal under the First Amendment and unlike things on Fox News, for example, SNL doesn't paint itself as "news."

Speaking to MSNBC on Tuesday, former Trump Organization executive Barbara Res explained that while CFO Allen Weisselberg might know everything about financial documents, the person who really knows where the bodies are buried is Trump's former bodyguard.

The Wall Street Journal reported earlier Tuesday that Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance's office is now investigating Matthew Calamari, who, like Weisselberg, may have gotten "gifts" from Trump as another form of tax-free payment.

On Tuesday, Newsweek reported that a highway sign in south Florida was hacked to say the words, "Arrest Fauci," "COVID-19 was a hoax," and "VACCINES KILL."

"NBC 6 reported that by mid-morning, Miami-Dade Expressway Authority officials were aware of the sign and had turned it off," wrote Emma Mayer. "Newsweek reached out to the Miami Department of Transportation for comment but has yet to receive a response."

On Tuesday, following Senate Republicans' lockstep vote to block debate on voting rights, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) gave a thunderous speech comparing Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to the southern segregationists who fought the 1965 Voting Rights Act.

"Republican state legislatures across the country are engaged in the most sweeping voter suppression in 80 years," said Schumer. "Capitalizing on and catalogued by Donald Trump's big lie. These state governments are making it harder for younger, poorer, urban and non-white Americans to vote. Earlier today, the Republican leader told reporters that, quote, 'Regardless of what may be happening in some states, there is no rationale for federal intervention.' The Republican leader flatly stated that no matter what the states do to undermine our democracy — voter suppression laws, phony audits, partisan takeovers of local election boards — the Senate should not act."

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced Tuesday that she will announce whether or not she'll form a House Select Committee to investigate the attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, said Guardian congressional reporter Hugo Lowell.

Pelosi's spokesperson was later forced to clarify her announcement, saying she intends to announce whether she's forming a committee.

The Republican Senate might be behind the efforts to shut down the U.S. Senate but MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace predicts that Democrats will suffer the consequences.

It's unclear if that was Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell's (R-KY) goal when he announced that he would block everything the Democrats attempt.

Republicans were able to successfully block the debate over voting rights legislation on Tuesday. The vote wasn't for the voting rights legislation, it was only to allow a debate over the legislation.

The vote was a major one for Sens. Joe Manchin (D-VA) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), both of whom have refused to support any evolution in the filibuster law, such as requiring that all filibusters be talking filibusters and not threats to have a filibuster. Currently, the Senate has been brought to a stand-still by Republicans threatening to filibuster legislation, which blocks even debate over the legislation.

On Tuesday, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported that Paul Nicholas Miller, a Fort Lauderdale-based internet broadcaster who has called for a race war, has pleaded guilty to illegally stockpiling weapons in his home.

"Miller, a New Jersey native with two previous felony convictions, took a plea deal and pleaded guilty to three weapons charges stemming from an FBI raid of his home in March," reported Brooke Baitinger. "Although the raid involved the FBI's terrorism task force, no one explained in court whether Miller was under investigation for more serious offenses."
