Republicans admit they're trying to destroy Madison Cawthorn: 'Get this guy out'

Democrats hoping to see Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R) ousted from his seat representing North Carolina in the U.S. House of Representatives after just one term are getting an able assist from some unlikely allies -- Republicans and former friends of the controversial lawmaker back in his home state.

According to a report from the Daily Beast's Sam Brodey and Roger Sollenberger, Republicans and conservatives in North Carolina -- with the support of Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) -- are openly boasting that they want him gone and are connected to leaks of embarrassing photos and videos of Cawthorn that have reportedly even disgusted former president Donald Trump, who has nonetheless endorsed him.

GOP House candidate who denies promoting QAnon said he believes 'everything' in it

J.R. Majewski, a pro-Trump "rapper" and landscaper who gained notoriety for turning his lawn into a giant Trump sign, is now the GOP's nominee to take on longtime Democratic Ohio Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur — and as part of that, he is attempting to distance himself from the QAnon conspiracy theory, which holds that the former president has been working to save America from a secret cult of Satanic child-trafficking cannibals.

But according to Rolling Stone, several outlets are already chronicling the times he clearly said he was a QAnon believer, and promoted the movement's claims.

Progressive senator to Sanders and Schumer: Stop lying to voters on Roe v. Wade -- we got rolled

With the Supreme Court slated to overturn Roe v. Wade in the coming months, there’s been a loud and growing chorus from most elected Democrats focusing the party’s voters, activists, and donors on the usual suspect, the filibuster. There’s a problem though: Overhauling the filibuster – whether this week or four months from now – would do nothing for the millions of women on the verge of losing their reproductive rights.

In the aftermath of the leak, high profile progressives, including Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), immediately called for nuking the filibuster. With women’s rights at stake, they’ve been joined by many rank and file Democrats who are scrambling to show voters resolve while also giving them hope, even if its currently false hope.

Will pro-choice protesters attack Catholic churches? The right seems to think so

After the Supreme Court draft opinion leak this past week that suggested the imminent reversal of Roe v. Wade, conservatives responded with a variety of attempts to change the narrative. They insisted that the real issue was about who had leaked the document, claimed that the decision wouldn't really change anything, and derided progressives' worries about which precedent would fall next as hysterical. But on Thursday, the right was able to shift into a more comfortable gear, by claiming that they're actually the ones under attack.
