Voters suing to block Marjorie Taylor Greene from ballot want ‘Marshall law’ text considered

Lawyers representing voters challenging the candidacy of Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene want to introduce new evidence they say undermines Greene’s testimony in a state hearing last month.

The attorneys say a text message from Greene to White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows sent Jan. 17, 2021, in the wake of the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol show Greene was less than honest in her responses during cross examination.

“In our private chat with only Members, several are saying the only way to save our Republic is for Trump to call for Marshall law (sic),” she said in a message first published by CNN. “I don’t know on those things. I just wanted you to tell him. They stole this election. We all know. They will destroy our country next. Please tell him to declassify as much as possible so we can go after Biden and anyone else!”

Former CIA officer who pleaded guilty to raping 26 women now backtracks -- and claims he's impotent

On Monday, The Daily Beast reported that a former CIA officer who pleaded guilty to drugging and sexually assaulting 26 women is now trying to back out of the plea agreement — claiming he couldn't have done it because of his erectile dysfunction.

"Brian Jeffrey Raymond was arrested Oct. 9, 2020, in La Mesa, California," reported Justin Rohrlich. "The 'experienced sexual predator,' as prosecutors described him, had been living with his parents in his childhood hometown after abruptly returning to the U.S. from his undercover posting at the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City. A source close to the case told The Daily Beast that the CIA began an internal administrative inquiry after Raymond’s arrest, and that he resigned from the agency shortly thereafter."

Trump tells Perdue tele-rally that  Republicans will bomb in Georgia if Brian Kemp is re-nominated

According to Greg Bluestein of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, former President Donald Trump is attacking Republican Gov. Brian Kemp once again, warning voters that Republicans will not turn out if he is re-nominated — and that he would drag down Trump's preferred Senate candidate with him.

"In a tele-rally phone call for Perdue, the former president told supporters that a vote for Kemp was a vote for Democrat Stacey Abrams because GOP turnout in November will nosedive if the governor is the party’s nominee," reported Bluestein. "He added that Kemp’s victory would also hurt Herschel Walker, the Trump-backed former football star who is expected to easily win the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate."

Republican efforts to remove Trump after Jan 6. went further than initially thought: new book

This newly released book This Will Not Pass, by New York Times reporters Alexander Burns and Jonathan Martin, revealed that Washington state Republican Reps. Jaime Herrera Beutler and Dan Newhouse did more than initially known about Donald Trump's attempts to overthrow the 2020 election.

The Seattle Times quoted the book's revelations that after the former president directed his supporters to march to the U.S. Capitol, where they then went on a full attack, Newhouse brought up invoking the 25th Amendment. The law allows the Cabinet to remove the president if they believe he is mentally incapacitated. It was part of the conversation happening among not only the House caucus, but also among then-Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY).

Decades-old human remains in barrel found as Lake Mead recedes — and there could be more: report

On Monday, the Los Angeles Times reported that skeletal human remains from roughly 40 years ago have been found in a barrel as the water line of Lake Mead in Southern Nevada receded to record lows — and that there are likely still more bodies under the surface that will be exposed by the water crisis.

"The receding waters at Lake Mead, the country’s largest manmade reservoir, have dropped to historic lows. The levels are so shallow that a barrel containing skeletal remains was found Sunday immersed in mud, reports KLAS-TV in Las Vegas," reported Nathan Solis. "Based on personal items found in the barrel, police think it has been at the bottom of the lake since the 1980s. Lt. Ray Spencer with the Las Vegas Metro Police told the news station the person was likely killed four decades ago and was found around 3 p.m. Sunday by boaters."
