But it was only Bauer who had the memorable lines.

The Justice Department is investigating a fundraising practice that claims whoever donates will result in a match to the tune of 5 times. Axios reported Tuesday that the practice could amount to "material misrepresentations" if the match is nothing more than a lie.

Both parties use and nonprofits are notorious for it. But Trump and the GOP took the tactic to a whole new level last year when they said up to 900 percent of donations would be matched.

Speaking to MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell on Tuesday, former senior prosecutor for Robert Mueller, Andrew Weissmann, explained that the Martin Act is typically used in the New York AG's office to investigate commodities fraud, but also extends to real estate fraud.

"It also has a provision that covers fraud or deceit in the sales of real estate in New York state," Weissmann explained. "Where we don't know what's being looked at. If you narrow it down to what is the attorney general has criminal jurisdiction over is the Martin Act. If you look at the provision of the Martin Act, it is security and commodities and real estate. So, if you connect the dots, that's what the New York attorney general has now in her sight in connection with the Trump investigation."

Legal experts and politicos flocked to Twitter upon the news that the New York attorney general is joining the criminal complaint against former President Donald Trump's New York company.

In a statement from Attorney General Letitia James' spokesperson, it was revealed that the Trump Organization was informed that they're now part of a New York criminal probe along with the financial probe from the district attorney.

CNN's Chris Cuomo reported Tuesday evening that New York Attorney General Letitia James will join the Manhattan District Attorney's investigation into the Trump Organization.

The news came from the AG's office noting that D.A. Cyrus Vance Jr.'s investigation into the Trump business

On Tuesday evening, former President Donald Trump took to his blog to rail against the proposed Jan. 6 Commission as a "Democrat trap" — and demand that Republicans block it from being enacted.

"Republicans in the House and Senate should not approve the Democrat trap of the January 6 Commission," wrote Trump. "It is just more partisan unfairness and unless the murders, riots, and fire bombings in Portland, Minneapolis, Seattle, Chicago, and New York are also going to be studied, this discussion should be ended immediately. Republicans must get much tougher and much smarter, and stop being used by the Radical Left. Hopefully, Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy are listening!"

This week, reports revealed that prosecutors working for former President Donald Trump's Justice Department sought to unmask the identity of @NunesAlt, a Twitter account that posted satirical content making fun of Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA).

But that was not the whole story. According to CNN, the unmasking attempt grew out of an investigation into threats against then-Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY).

Earlier Tuesday, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said that he was "open" to the ideas of the Jan. 6 Commission to investigate what went wrong when the Capitol was attacked and how to fix those security issues. It turns out it was a lie.

Axios reported Tuesday night that behind closed doors, McConnell said he can't support the commission "in its current form." The same form that Rep. Kevin McCarthy and Rep. John Katko (R-NY) helped craft with Democrats.

In a recently released email between Twitter and the Justice Department, it was revealed that after Attorney General Bill Barr left, the DOJ attempted to get information on an anti-Devin Nunes account without saying whether or not there was a threat against Nunes.

According to the email, Twitter asked the DOJ if the individual had threatened Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA), something that would necessitate the unmasking of the person. The DOJ lawyer refused to say.

On CNN Tuesday, former federal prosecutor Elie Honig tore into Rudy Giuliani's defense for why he told the "Save America" rally attendees on Jan. 6 to have "trial by combat" — mere minutes before the storming of the U.S. Capitol began.

"Giuliani was central to former President Trump's attempts to overturn the 2020 election. And now he says in a court filing that those words were 'hyperbolic,'" said anchor Erin Burnett. "Does that stand up in court?"

Daniel Paul Gray of Florida was charged today with multiple crimes of violence against police officers at the January 6 Capitol riot. Supporting photographic evidence is a video made by Gray that spells out the goal of "pushing police out the back of the Capitol."

Gray is accused of having altercations with multiple police, one in which he caused a female police officer to fall down the western rotunda stairs "and became visibly injured."
