A Florida prosecutor expressed doubts that Ginni Thomas would willingly testify before the House Select Committee because, he said, she faces criminal liability for her role in trying to overturn Donald Trump's election loss.

The wife of Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas exchanged texts about those efforts with former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows and discussed other schemes to swap out lawful electors for Joe Biden with a bogus slate of Trump electors, and she insisted she would happily testify before congressional electors.

John Oliver focused on the House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on Congress and the scam to overthrow the 2020 election.

Oliver began by focusing on John Eastman, who he warned, should be an indication to everyone to get rid of their lawyer if they show up to court.

DC Metro Police Department announced that they are responding to the area of 14th and U Street, NW, after multiple people were shot, including a police officer.

Videos of the scene showed them working to help tend to those who were injured. They also showed a chaotic scene once the shots were fired with people fleeing the area in terror.

The third of the House Select Committee's public hearings addressed Pence's role in protecting the Electoral College count. Both Republicans and Democrats highlighted his "courage" in standing up for America. But the plot for Jan. 6 became known to Pence a month earlier. It prompted some to ask why he never came out before Jan. 6 to explain what Trump wanted him to do. It also begs the question if he never faded in his dedication to uphold the 2020 election, why he needed to call so many people to ask for their legal advice, like Judge Michael Luttig and former VP Dan Quayle.

Former Watergate Prosecutor Jill Wine Banks addressed the upcoming Tuesday hearings for the House Select Committee investigating the attack on the 2020 election and the violence against Congress. While the Justice Department hasn't revealed anything about whether they intend to act, they have asked the House Committee for the information in their investigation. According to Wine Banks, the worst thing that could happen is if the DOJ doesn't act at all.

"It would be a horrible message," she said of the DOJ if it refuses to move forward. "There's nothing worse than not receiving in this case. The evidence has been obvious for a long time, but it is now being laid out in front of the American public in a way that they've never seen before. The committee has done an amazing job so far to narrate a story without a John Dean [style person] to do it."

Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) isn't seeking reelection but his position on the House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack has made his life more dangerous.

While appearing on ABC's "This Week," Kinzinger revealed one of the death threats against him, specifically mentioning his wife and their five-month-old baby.

The New York Times published a 17-minute video showing how the Proud Boys coordinated the assault on the U.S. Capitol.

The newspaper compiled evidence from court documents, text messages and hundreds of videos shot by participants to show the right-wing militant group instigating multiple breaches of the Capitol as lawmakers certified the election of Joe Biden.

MSNBC's Chuck Rosenberg believes the House Select Committee has come close to proving former President Donald Trump led a seditious conspiracy.

The "Morning Joe" legal analyst explained that Thursday's public hearing showed compelling evidence that the former president and his legal advisers, including attorney John Eastman, attempted to obstruct the congressional certification of President Joe Biden's election win, and that they were aware the scheme was unlawful.

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough said the latest hearing of the House Select Committee showed "clear intent" by Donald Trump's supporters to murder the vice president, speaker of the House and other top government officials.

The mob chanted "hang Mike Pence" as they ransacked the U.S. Capitol looking for the vice president, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Democratic lawmakers, and the "Morning Joe" host said the evidence clearly showed they intended to murder anyone standing in the way of Trump becoming a dictator.

During Thursday's Jan. 6 committee hearing, Judge Michael Luttig made a clear, decisive statement that he would have given his own life to ensure that the 2020 election was certified by former Vice President Mike Pence.

"I had foreshadowed this answer in my earlier testimony to Congresswoman [Liz] Cheney (R-WI)," began Luttig about his former clerk John Eastman. "Mr. Eastman, from the beginning, said to the president that there was both legal as well as historical precedent for the vice president to overturn the election. And what we've heard today, I believe, what happened within the White House and elsewhere as all the players, led by Mr. Eastman, got wrapped around the axle by the historical evidence claim by Mr. Eastman."

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough and conservative attorney George Conway condemned Ginni Thomas for exchanging emails with a right-wing lawyer who was plotting to overturn Donald Trump's election loss.

Newly revealed emails show attorney John Eastman claimed to have insight into a "heated fight" among Supreme Court justices about hearing cases related to Trump's election challenges, and pro-Trump attorney Kenneth Chesebro said he believed the court would be more inclined to act if there were "'wild' chaos" in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 6, 2021, in an apparent reference to a tweet sent out by the former president.

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough doesn't believe the excuses offered by Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) about a tour of the U.S. Capitol complex he gave to some constituents who turned up the next day at the Jan. 6 insurrection.

The House Select Committee released video evidence of the Jan. 5, 2021, tour showing a man taking photos and recording video of security checkpoints, tunnels and stairways in the Capitol complex a day before the riot, and that same man was also shown making threats against individual Democratic lawmakers.
