MSNBC's Joe Scarborough didn't mince words about the "insurrection" against the United States that was aided and abetted by President Donald Trump.

The "Morning Joe" host dropped an F-bomb during a denunciation of the takeover of the U.S. Capitol by Trump supporters following a speech by the president, where he encouraged them to march to prevent the certification of Joe Biden's election win, and called out all the law enforcement professionals who stood by and let them into the building to menace lawmakers.

"A Late Show with Stephen Colbert" had a show planned for Wednesday night, but it ended up being a live show because the host spent the day glued to the coverage of the attempted war at the hands of President Donald Trump's supporters.

"I really want to do the show we're about to do and I also don't want to do the show we're about to do because Lord have mercy, there are some dark subjects that we talk about on the show occasionally, but I've really haven't been as upset as I am tonight," he said. "I'm sure you are, too."

On Wednesday evening, in the aftermath of the attack on the U.S. Capitol by angry Trump supporters that left one woman dead and damage throughout the building, many of those who showed up dispersed — but some remained. As police and reporters surrounded them, they complained that they were being misrepresented.

"The media is calling us Trump mobs, violent Trump mobs, and we're not a violent Trump mob," said one woman. Another attendee agreed, saying, "Antifa announced everyone's going to wear Trump gear."

West Virginia's Derrick Evans, (R-Wayne) live-streamed his experience as part of President Donald Trump's mob attacking the U.S. Capitol Wednesday. Perhaps understanding what he did was a crime, he quickly deleted the video while he was inside the Capitol building.

According to WV Metro News, photos had already taken screenshots and videos of the original that can be used by U.S. Attorneys to prosecute Mr. Evans. In one video he moves the camera to see into the Capitol interior while making his way through the doors. "We're in! We're in! Derrick Evans is in the Capitol!" he shouts.

One of the GOP senators leading the effort to overturn the 2020 election results denied any culpability for the fatal insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday.

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) has been one of the leaders to overturn the will of the voters and was interviewed by NBC News correspondent Garrett Haake following the riots by Trump supporters.

"Senator, Interesting day," Haake noted. "Are you still planning to object to the results when things get going again?"

One member of Congress told a harrowing story about how she prepared for the fatal riot at the U.S. Capitol.

Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-CA) was interviewed by MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace.

On Wednesday's edition of MSNBC's "Deadline: White House," anchor Nicolle Wallace tore into Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Josh Hawley (R-MO), who have helped lead the push in Congress to overturn the results of the election, and whose lies may have helped encourage the violence at the U.S. Capitol.

"Donald Trump is now holed up, sending up videos that we haven't seen him do on days like this since he was hospitalized with COVID," said Wallace. "The vice president and the speaker are still, as far as we know, at the Capitol, but we haven't seen them or heard from them and police, law enforcement and the military do not have control of the United States Senate."

The riot inside the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday is reportedly now a fatal incident after a woman shot during the insurrection died.

NBC News reports that multiple law enforcement sources are saying the woman has died.

Police deployed tear gas and flash-bang grenades at the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday after supporters of Donald Trump stormed the building in an effort to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.

Even former Trump chief of staff Reince Priebus described the insurrectionists as "domestic terrorists" -- but Trump praised them as "very special" in a video message released Wednesday.

President Donald Trump's supporters seized the U.S. Capitol, stealing shields and batons and began breaking the windows and began shooting into the House chamber while scared U.S. Representatives and Senators hid under their chairs, some with gas masks on.

Meanwhile, at least one Capitol Police officer was taking selfies with those breaking into the building.

Former Republican Sen. Rick Santorum (PA) got shouted down by an angry David Axelrod on Wednesday as armed insurrectionists broke into the U.S. Capitol building.

Santorum lamented he was "heartbroken" and said he didn't know how our society reached this level of violence.
