'Ridiculous' Lauren Boebert buried by former prosecutor for claiming rape victims should have had a Glock

Appearing on MSNBC on Saturday afternoon -- and struggling through a glitchy video link -- former prosecutor Cynthia Alksne expressed disgust with Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) for comments she made about rape victims, implying that, had they been armed with a handgun, they never would have been sexually assaulted.

Boebert was attempting to make the case for overturning Roe v Wade.

Lauren Boebert bungles her call to oust Biden when she misspells 'impeach'

In a press release this Friday, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) announced that she will be introducing an article of impeachment against President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

"Joe Biden willfully abandoned his duty as President of the United States and violated his constitutional oath to 'take care that the laws be faithfully executed' by failing to ensure the national security of the United States and its citizens," the press release read. "Joe Biden and Kamala Harris handed over billions of dollars of American-made weapons to the very scum of the earth that we spent $2 trillion fighting. The Biden regime is not being held accountable. There have been no resignations, no indictments, no investigations, no congressional oversight, no outcry from the mainstream media, and no apologies—so I'm stepping up to hold Biden and Harris accountable by filing articles of impeachment for giving aid and comfort to America's enemies and colluding with the Taliban."

‘Really audacious’: MSNBC anchor shocked by Lauren Boebert’s latest campaign finance scandal

MSNBC's Chris Hayes on Thursday examined the campaign finance scandals by Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) and compared it with the corruption practiced by Viktor Orbán, the right-wing authoritarian ruling Hungary.

Hayes described some of the corruption allegations against Orbán, saying it is "a story as old as the time, stuffing his own pockets, one of the oldest grifts, the populist who uses populism as a cover for corruption."

GOP's Lauren Boebert may face 'punitive action' for using campaign funds to pay for rent and utilities: report

On Wednesday, Forbes reported that Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) has admitted in Federal Election Commission documents to improperly paying for rent and utilities with campaign funding.

"The Boebert campaign's original filing for the second quarter of 2021 included four disbursements to Venmo, totaling $6,650, with a vague description: 'Personal expense of Lauren Boebert billed to campaign account in error. Expense has been reimbursed,'" reported Zach Everson. "In August, the FEC asked the campaign for more details about the payments. At the time, Boebert's spokesperson, Jake Settle, would only describe the purchases to Forbes as 'personal expenses.'"

GOP colleagues avoid mentioning Trump during meetings with Mike Pence: Woodward book

After losing the 2020 election, former Vice President Mike Pence set up his office in Virginia. While he may have purchased a $1.93 million dollar house in Carmel, Indiana, the reality is that he's spending a lot of time just outside of Washington, D.C.

In the new book Peril by the Washington Post's Bob Woodward and Robert Costa, Pence is described as holding court with Republican lawmakers. "Trying to be in the game for 2024," the book claims. Earlier this year, Pence only scored 1 percent in the CPAC straw poll.

Lauren Boebert parties in NYC with Capitol rioters and AOC challenger

Two weeks ago, the Conservative Party of Richmond County, New York, held a dinner at an upscale Italian restaurant where Republican members of Congress and aspiring GOP candidates mingled with Capitol rioters.

Those facts may require some unpacking: Richmond County is the same thing as Staten Island, the southernmost borough of New York City, which remains predominantly white and leans Republican. The Conservative Party is a relic of old-time New York machine politics, which today is almost entirely aligned with the GOP.

Lauren Boebert allows 8-year-old to play alone with cigarette lighters -- next to a possibly-loaded firearm

In a video reviewed by Salon and apparently recorded on July 25, the 8-year-old son of Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., can be seen singing, dancing and playing with cigarette lighters — while left alone in a room a few feet away from a high-capacity rifle. This would appear to violate a new Colorado state law, under which gun owners are required to store their deadly weapons in a gun safe, with a trigger or cable lock, whenever the owner is aware, or should reasonably be aware, that a "juvenile or a resident who is ineligible to possess a firearm can gain access to the firearm."

As a newly-elected member of Congress in February, Boebert was widely criticized after appearing at a House Natural Resources Committee meeting via Zoom before a backdrop of a bookshelf bearing several high-capacity weapons.

Scathing memo offers blueprint for attacking 'extremist' Republicans: report

During the 2020 election, many Democrats hammered Republicans relentlessly over their failure to take the COVID-19 pandemic seriously — and according to a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee memo that CNN has obtained a copy of, Democrats also plan to make COVID-19 a major issue in the 2022 midterms.

Some non-Trumpian GOP governors have been quite proactive in their response to the pandemic, including Maryland's Larry Hogan, Massachusetts' Charlie Baker and Vermont's Phil Scott. Yet countless other Republicans have downplayed the pandemic's severity, opposed social distancing measures and discouraged the use of protective mask mandates.

Republicans ridiculed for addressing media threats to Yahoo CEO who left in 2017

This week, House GOP leaders threatened that they would obstruct any effort to obtain the phone records of Republican officials who may have been involved in the Jan. 6 attack. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) drew criticism and accusations that his efforts to block the subpoenas were an obstruction of justice, while others asked what he had to hide.

But there was one piece of the formal threats that are drawing mockery even days after. McCarthy and 11 other GOP leaders joined in sending letters to media heads so they would have a written threat. One of those letters was addressed to the President and CEO of Yahoo. At least, she was the CEO four years ago.
