WATCH: Rick Wilson drops the hammer on Kevin McCarthy and his 'mutant caucus'

Appearing on MSNBC on Friday night, former Republican campaign consultant Rick Wilson went off on House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) for his clownish leadership of the House Republican caucus, saying it's no certainty the California Republican would even hold onto his leadership spot if the GOP reclaims the House in 2022.

Using a column critical of McCarthy in the Washington Post as a leaping-off point, "The ReidOut" host Joy Reid began by stating, "Nobody's afraid of this guy. Is there any possibility that caucus, if they somehow manage to turn this nightmare into getting back the majority, are they actually going to make this fool Speaker? Is that something that could really happen?"

Lauren Boebert facing a major roadblock in her path to re-election: report

According to a report from the Denver Post, controversial Rep. Lauren Boebert's path to re-election received a setback on Friday after a non-partisan redistricting committee shoved her home into a much more liberal district.

In June, Politico reported that Boebert was already losing favor with voters in her district, with some supporters feeling she was more interested in building up her image than doing the job voters sent her to Washington D.C to do.

Marjorie Taylor Greene’s threat against telecom companies is ‘pure corrupt thuggery’: Former federal prosecutor

U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) made an astonishing threat against telecommunication companies Tuesday night, warning them to not comply with the House January 6 Committee's request to preserve the records of some members of the "Sedition Caucus," and others associated with the "Stop the Steal" Rally.

"These telecommunications companies, if they go along with this, they will be shut down," Greene told Fox News personality Tucker Carlson. "And that's a promise."

Trump privately resisting GOP calls to join the rush to impeach Biden: report

Republicans have been calling Donald Trump to enlist him in efforts to drum up support for impeaching President Joe Biden over the turbulent troop withdrawal from Afghanistan.

The former president, who was impeached twice during his four-year term, has spoken to multiple GOP lawmakers in recent weeks who wish to recruit Trump to publicly support their efforts to impeach Biden or other members of his administration, two Republican sources told The Daily Beast, but his spokeswoman tersely denied their claims.

Ex-FBI official reveals why Jim Jordan has no way to save himself — or Trump — from Capitol riot committee

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) has backed himself into a corner, according to former FBI official Frank Figliuzzi.

Speaking to MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace about the threats from pro-Donald Trump militias expected on Sept. 18, a group of panelists agreed law enforcement is prepared this time. Rep. Madeleine Dean (D-PA) explained that it is clear the Jan. 6 attackers aren't finished and that they fully intend to move forward with further attacks on the country.

Lauren Boebert demands Kamala Harris be impeached for not invoking the 25th Amendment

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) on Tuesday called for the impeachment of Vice President Kamala Harris because she has not invoked the 25th Amendment to remove President Joe Biden from office over his handling of the Afghanistan war.

"The blame starts at the top," Boebert said during a Freedom Caucus press conference, "with Biden and his handpicked vice president who bragged that she was right there making the same bad decisions. And if not for her own dereliction of duty, she should be impeached for not demanding we invoke the 25th Amendment."

Remarks made by U.S. Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) are being seen as so volatile and destructive some are calling for his expulsion from Congress.

The North Carolina Republican lawmaker was warned to stop campaigning across the country and start paying attention to his own constituents. On Sunday, The Washington Post reports, Cawthorn told his local Macon County Republican Party "that elections in the United States are 'rigged' and said there will be 'bloodshed' if the country's electoral system continues on its current path."

Lauren Boebert’s husband did jail time for 'lewd exposure' -- and she was there

Jayson Steven Boebert, the husband of Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., has complicated his wife's political career recently, after reports that the right-wing congresswoman failed to disclose Jayson's highly-paid work in the natural gas industry while she was serving on the House Natural Resources Committee, which directly oversees regulation of that business.

It appears that might not be the only thing about Jayson that Rep. Boebert doesn't want the public to know. In January 2004, when Jayson Boebert was 24, he was arrested for exposing himself to two young women at a Colorado bowling alley. His future wife Lauren Roberts (as she was then known), who was 17 at the time, was also present and was told she was no longer welcome at the bowling alley.

Arizona's largest newspaper is unsurprised that the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol is investigating two members of the state's congressional delegation.

"The special House committee examining the Jan. 6 riot is reportedly planning to seek phone records from former President Donald Trump and other Republicans involved in the 'Stop the Steal' rallies, including Reps. Andy Biggs and Paul Gosar of Arizona," Ronald Hansen reported for the Arizona Republic. "It isn't surprising that Biggs and Gosar would receive scrutiny from the committee."

Lauren Boebert's sole Republican challenger wants a return to 'ethical representation'

Rep. Lauren Boebert, the incumbent in Colorado's 3rd Congressional District, is facing an unlikely opponent for the 2022 election: a fellow conservative Republican. Marina Zimmerman, of Arboles, is running in 2022 to represent the 3rd District in the U.S. House of Representatives, and will face Boebert in the Republican primary. Zimmerman is Boebert's only Republican challenger as of Aug. 26.

Zimmerman spent over 20 years as a crane operator in industrial construction. “The middle class has been really neglected by Washington for a long time. I really have that strong working class background, and I have the education to do the job, as well," Zimmerman said.
