MyPillow CEO boasts he gave Trump the idea he'll be 'reinstated' as president: 'He heard me say it'

On Wednesday, The Daily Beast reported that MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, a far-right activist and friend of former President Donald Trump, is boasting that he probably was the one who put the idea in Trump's head that he will be "reinstated" as president later this year.

"In the past few weeks, two people close to Trump told The Daily Beast, the ex-president had begun increasingly quizzing confidants about a potential August return to power. What's more, he claimed that a lot of 'highly respected' people — who Trump did not name — have been saying it's possible. Both of these sources said they decided not to tell the former president what they were thinking, which was that it's not going to happen," reported Will Sommer. "It's unclear, exactly, who these 'highly respected' individuals are, and who first got the August chatter in Trump's ear. But the August deadline tracks with comments made by Lindell, one of the ex-president's most ardent supporters and personal friends."

The secrets of the Proud Boys revealed

The so-called Proud Boys are a white supremacist militia. They pose a clear and present danger to Black Americans and the security of the United States. They were part of the insurgency that stormed the United States Capitol on January 6 in an act that FBI Director Christopher Wray stated was clearly an act of domestic terror.

The Proud Boys fit the definition—political violence, motivated with the desire to take control of the Capitol building, believing they had God on their side. That surely meets any reasonable criteria. One Proud Boy, known as "Milkshake," was recently arrested for his role in the insurrection, and allegedly shouted, "Let's take the fucking Capitol," while wearing a hat with the words "God, Guns and Trump" emblazoned on it.

Legal scholar smacks down frivolous Texas lawsuit accusing vaccine mandates of violating anti-Nazi codes

On Wednesday, writing for Bloomberg Opinion, Harvard Law professor and legal scholar Noah Feldman demolished the logic of a Texas lawsuit challenging a hospital's requirement that its employees be vaccinated — and claiming that the mandate violates anti-Nazi codes.

"The Texas plaintiffs, either working in concert or in parallel with a New York-based law firm that is in turn linked to the anti-vaccination movement, claim that administering mRNA vaccines now should be treated as a form of experimentation," wrote Feldman. "And they maintain that requiring employees to be vaccinated eliminates their capacity to consent. This, they insist, amounts to a violation of the Nuremberg Code, a guideline developed in the post-World War II trial of Nazi doctors for crimes against humanity that says humans should not be subject to medical experiments without their consent."

Nicolle Wallace shames Democrats that one election lawyer can't save the right to vote alone

Lawyers can do a lot, but election lawyer Marc Elias warned that he and a team of lawyers can't stop Republicans from trying to stop people from voting by themselves. If Americans want to hold onto their right to vote, it's only going to happen with the "For the People Act" that has been passed by the House but not by the Senate.

Speaking to MSNBC on Wednesday, Elias explained that he's going to keep doing the best that he can, but that it's him against hundreds of Republicans, conservative think-tanks and right-wing groups working to block Democrats from their access to the polls.

Trump killed his blog because he was so upset no one was reading it: Bulwark editor Charlie Sykes

It was just 29 days that the ex-president's rantings and ravings existed on his "From the Desk of Donald Trump" page on the website. Bulwark editor-in-chief Charlie Sykes thinks it's because he couldn't handle the lack of interest in the page.

Evangelical pastor warns people are taking QAnon as a religion: We're no match for '24 hours of Facebook'

On Tuesday's edition of CNN's "OutFront," Russell Moore, a former president of the Southern Baptist Convention who has warned evangelical pastors are "exhausted" trying to combat QAnon conspiracy theories, told anchor Erin Burnett that people are turning to QAnon as a new religion — and the challenges of preventing congregants from falling down the rabbit hole.

"It is a situation where conspiracy theories are going through not just churches, but the entire community," said Moore.
