'Scowlface': Why Trump should stop comparing himself to Al Capone

Former President Donald Trump is increasingly comparing himself to Alphonse Capone, the infamous 1920s Chicago mob boss who was ultimately brought down for tax evasion. But he might want to be careful about that comparison, wrote columnist Michael Vogel for The Palm Beach Post.

Vogel particularly focused on a post Trump made to Truth Social at the start of the year, in which he said, “because of weaponization, targeting and unprecedented harassment, I have more lawyers working for me on this corrupt law enforcement-induced Bull… than any human being in the history of our country, including the late, great gangster, Alphonse Capone!”

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis on Tuesday shot down a fake elector’s argument for removing his case to federal court.
Shawn Still, who is among 19 co-defendants along with former President Donald Trump indicted in the Georgia election conspiracy case, has sought to have his case tried in federal court.
Still was among 16 Georgia Republicans who prosecutors allege falsely signed a certificate in which they declared themselves the state’s “duly elected and qualified” electors. He was a candidate elected to the state Senate last year.

Still’s lawyers argued in court filings, “In that role, Mr. Still was, or was acting under, an officer of the United States.”

State electors are so-called because they are electors for each state.

Enrique Tarrio's 'terrorism' should have gotten him an even longer sentence: Ex-FBI agent Andrew McCabe

Longtime Proud Boys chairman Enrique Tarrio was sentenced to 22 years for his role in the seditious conspiracy to stop the electoral count — the longest sentence handed down yet for any of the January 6 defendants. But that's not enough, argued former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe on MSNBC Tuesday.

Tarrio already received a harsher sentence than even U.S. defector to the "Taliban American" John Walker Lindh — however, argued McCabe, he was essentially a domestic terrorist leader, and so should have been sentenced as such.

If Republicans remove Wisconsin Supreme Court justice the state becomes 'an oligarchy': reporter

Senior Vox correspondent Ian Millhiser is sounding the alarm about the battle Republicans in Wisconsin have taken up attempting to remove a member of the state Supreme Court elected by the people. If that happens, the state becomes an oligarchy, he said.

Millhiser, who covers the legal beat, explained that over the past ten years, the state has been gerrymandered so severely that it has become impossible for a Democratic majority to be elected in the state House, despite having the majority everywhere else. Now that there is a progressive majority in the state Supreme Court, however, a challenge to the maps is going to be decided and Republicans are furious.

Donald Trump has been fantasizing on his social media site again. This time he is dreaming about what he will do to President Joe Biden if he takes it back in 2024.
