Newsmax was once a favorite to become the go-to network for fans of former President Donald Trump after he regularly attacked Fox News for its election coverage.

But as Vox's Aaron Rupar explains, things have not worked out that way.

Former federal prosecutor Nick Ackerman explained on Wednesday that any official who worked with militias in the lead-up to January 6th should be worried.

Speaking to MSNBC's Ari Melber, Ackerman explained that he is "totally convinced" that if House members coordinated with the Three Percenters or Proud Boys online or on their phones that it will be found out and they will be prosecuted.

The Washington Post editorial board lauded the Justice Department decision made earlier this week to vacate defending Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) for his role in the January 6th rally that led to the attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Brooks had demanded Attorney General Merrick Garland serve as his lawyer and the taxpayers foot the bill. But this week, Garland said that Brooks's actions at the rally didn't fall within the duties of a member of Congress, as the rally was obvious political rally that was exclusively funded by political organizations and boasted a political message.

Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH) went off on Republicans Wednesday for their opposition to wearing masks again.

Taking to the House floor, Ryan ranted, "Just stop with this craziness! We're trying to be safe! We're trying to protect our family members.. and the minority leader mocks that."

Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-ND) is refusing to kowtow to President Donald Trump's supporters upholding Ashli Babbitt as a hero.

Cramer, who last week became the latest Republican to give a bungled explanation of the HIPAA medical privacy law, appeared on a local radio station and answered questions for callers.

CNN's Jake Tapper asked after the Congressional hearings Tuesday where the FOP (Fraternal Order of Police) was. At no point has the FOP stepped up to a microphone or appeared on television to back the blue members in Washington who faced large attacks on Jan. 6.

As Officer Michael Fanone told Don Lemon, the FOP didn't even reach out to him after the attack, despite his appearances on CNN. Fanone said that he was the one who had to reach out to the FOP about the incident. A whopping 140 members of the Capitol Police and D.C. Metro Police were injured that day and some are still out on medical leave. Others will never be able to work in their jobs again.

Fox News host Laura Ingraham began her segment on the Jan. 6 committee by mocking the police officers who testified before Congress.

The host who "purports to back the blue" tore them down and beat them with her unique style of cruel mockery. Ingraham, who has never served in uniform, fought in a war, been beaten and tased, or even reported from a war zone, gave the top award to Officer Michael Fanone, who she accused of giving a "performance" when addressing Congress.

YouGov did their annual ranking of U.S. presidents revealing that former President Donald Trump still isn't the popular president he wants to be.

According to the new rankings, Abraham Lincoln is still the No. 1 guy, much to the chagrin of the Confederacy.

Among the many insulting things Tucker Carlson said about the police officers who testified before Congress Tuesday, he laughed at Officer Michael Fanone for having PTSD after being beaten unconscious.

During his show, Carlson cast doubt on Fanone's claims of having PTSD after he reported having no such traumas last year after serving during the Black lives Matter protests in Washington, D.C. last summer.

Fox News host Tucker Carlson began his show with more conspiracies around the coronavirus, but after ten minutes of rambling, he began talking about Tuesday's major news: The first hearing of the Capitol riot House Select Committee.

Even though Carlson in the past has promoted himself as very pro-police, he nonetheless viciously trashed the Capitol Police officers who testified at the start of the hearing.

The House Select Committee on the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol kicked off Tuesday with four police officers delivering emotional testimony about their experiences that day.

But one major question hanging over the committee is whether former President Donald Trump will testify, and the general assumption is that there is no way he would willingly show up to answer questions for Congress.

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) had a tough time when Fox News host Bret Baier asked him about what happened when he spoke to President Donald Trump on Jan. 6 during the attack.

At first, Jordan confessed that he spoke to Trump that day, but rambled around trying to find some other way that he could pivot to attack Democrats.
