Tennessee Senate hopeful Marquita Bradshaw went skydiving on Tuesday, WJHL-TV reported.
Bradshaw told the network that she hopes the publicity stunt will “encourage voters to take a leap of faith with her.”
Bradshaw is running for the open seat being vacated by GOP Sen. Lamar Alexander. She is facing Republican nominee Bill Hagerty.
The Republican conspiracy theory that Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg did not actually have a dying wish to have the winner of the 2020 election choose her replacement on the U.S. Supreme Court was on display on the Senate floor on Tuesday.
“My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed," Ginsburg dictated in a statement released by her granddaughter, Clara Spera.
But there's a right-wing conspiracy theory that the quote is not accurate, thus giving Republicans freedom to ignore her wish.
On Monday afternoon, the conspiracy theory was pushed by President Donald Trump.
On Fox News Monday evening, the conspiracy theory was pushed by Tucker Carlson.
As Democrats forwarded a resolution honoring RBG, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) blocked the effort, as was reported by Politico's Burgess Everett:
President Donald Trump and his allies seem to realize that they've dug themselves a hole in attacking former Vice President Joe Biden as mentally unfit. With expectations so low, a Biden win in the first debates are almost assured, even with a Fox News host.
In a discussion Tuesday, Trump began to pivot away from his non-stop advertising attacking Biden's cognitive abilities and instead claim Biden is a "professional" who knows what he's doing.
"Maybe that would work if the president himself had not been saying this about Biden on repeat for the entirety of the campaign," said CNN host Brianna Keilar.
She showed a series of videos with Trump blasting Biden as "not all there" and "he doesn't know he's alive."
"It's totally baseless," said Keilar. "And now one week to the first debate president Trump, who is the most prominent purveyor of conspiracy theories in America is floating this one about Joe Biden."
She played the video from Trump speaking to an Ohio audience saying that Biden will get a "shot" or some kind of amphetamine that will make him smarter. It's why Trump is calling for a drug test, claiming that he too would take one.
A drug test could also tell a lot about Trump's health and the drugs he's taking if he concedes to actually giving one.
"Let's get this straight: Trump has been baselessly claiming that Biden is 'not with it' for months now," she explained. "Now he's so in doubt about why Biden is so 'with it' that he's covering all his bases, I guess. He's saying if you think Biden seems normal, it's because it's drug-induced? This has no basis in fact. He's just making stuff up. But it's designed to make you wonder, to creep into your head and stick because that's how conspiracy theories take hold. He's planting a seed and his state-run news channel and its on-staff doctor is watering the hell out of it."
She showed a clip of Fox News Dr. Marc Siegel asking why Trump would be talking about drug tests before a debate. While many would assume it was because Trump was the one thinking about doing drugs to boost his energy after a series of lackluster or "sedated" appearances.
Keilor noted that Dr. Siegel is paid by Fox News not to deliver factual information to viewers, but to make things up on television.
He'll "weaponize his medical credentials against a presidential candidate," she said. It was only late in the interview that he confessed that he's never examined Biden and doesn't have any idea what "condition" Biden could have that would confirm his lies.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on Tuesday described the confirmation of the next Supreme Court justice as both an obligation and a choice for the Senate.
At a press briefing, McConnell responded to questions of hypocrisy in the wake of his decision to push forward with confirming a justice in an election year despite the fact that he had not done so under President Barack Obama.
"Early polls show a majority of Americans disagree with your approach," one reporter explained to the Senate leader. "They want you to wait. Does that give you pause?"
"Well, as all of us have pointed out, we have an obligation under the Constitution, should we choose to take advantage of it," McConnell replied, "with a president of the same party as the Senate to advance the nomination."
"We will certainly do that this year," he added.
"But do you understand why many Americans view this as a double standard?" the reporter pressed.
"I can only repeat that we have an obligation under the Constitution, should we choose to take advantage of it to fill the vacancy," McConnell said. "And I assure you, that's very likely to happen."

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany on Tuesday defended President Donald Trump after he said that COVID-19 affects "virtually nobody" even though the death toll has passed 200,000 people in the United States.
At a White House press briefing, McEnany was asked about the rising death toll. In response, she pointed to projections that 2 million people could have died if the administration took no action against the pandemic.
"We grieve when even one life is lost," she said. "But the fact that we have come nowhere near that number is a testament to this president taking immediate action."
At that point, CNN correspondent Jim Acosta noted that Trump had recently told his supporters that COVID-19 affects "virtually nobody," referring to young people.
"Shouldn't the president be telling people the truth about this virus at his rallies?" Acosta asked.
"The president is telling people the truth," the press secretary insisted.
"He's not telling the truth," Acosta pressed.
"Jim, but you're again taking the president out of context," McEnany complained. "He was referring to young people."
"I'm not taking it out of context," the CNN correspondent fired back. "If I said he's talking about younger people then I'm not taking it out of context."
"You are taking it out of context," McEnany repeated, "because you're making an assertion that he's not giving critical information when in fact he is."
"Young people can contract the coronavirus and then spread it to older people," Acosta replied. "We've known this since the very beginning and for the president of the United States at 200,000 deaths to go out to his rallies and say something like it virtually affects nobody and in some states it's not affecting young people, that is glossing over the fact and really diminishing the fact that young people can catch this virus and spread it to older people."
"The president has never downplayed critical health information," McEnany later told reporters.

"The View" co-hosts began their Tuesday show talking about the potential Supreme Court appointee and concerns that they have about Amy Coney Barrett talking about her job being about expanding the kingdom of God.
Meghan McCain ranted that Barrett was being attacked for her religion and for having seven children. It's unclear where she's hearing that Barrett is being attacked for that, as the Democratic nominee for president is also Catholic and speaks openly about his faith. He has had four children.
"My concern is when we lose the Senate, what happens when Democrats are in power and you have a Biden presidency and Democrats running the Senate?" McCain also said. "This may be worth it to Republicans. I'm one of those people that think it probably is. I don't think there won't be a payout on the other end. The Amy Coney Barrett and the rhetoric that is going on with her right now, when you start talking about Christian women like we're all commanders wives in 'The Handmaid's Tale.' You can radicalize people in the country. I'm very anxious what's going to happen going forward when it looks like she's going to be nominated."
Sara Haines explained for the second time in two days that her concerns are about Barrett's use of the law and how she puts her faith first in deciding a ruling instead of putting the law first.
In the second segment, Whoopi Goldberg issued a warning to McCain without directly mentioning her, by saying that people shouldn't claim there are attacks on Barrett and her faith when she hasn't seen them anywhere. The attacks on Barrett are about her own comments on how she uses her religion to making legal decisions.
She also explained that Barrett wouldn't get "Kavanaugh'ed" as McCain alleged because Kavanaugh was an accused rapist. Presumably, no one would appoint another accused rapist to the Supreme Court.
"No one's going to accuse her of anything," said Goldberg. "I haven't seen people going after her for her religion. That's something we should not also spread because then it becomes a whole other conversation," said Goldberg.

Mike Pence's chief of staff, Marc Short, belittled a former staffer who has now come out against President Donald Trump for his failed response to the coronavirus pandemic.
In an NBC News interview, Olivia Troye, who advised Pence on homeland security, counterterrorism and the coronavirus, explained that the main conversation in the White House over the coronavirus was about Trump's image, and not saving Americans.
"He's not actually looking out for you," Troye said. "He's not looking out for these people. He's not looking out for them. He just wants you in that audience so he can have the camera shot of, you know, his fanfare and the people around him. But the truth is, he's putting those lives at risk.”
Short belittled Troye, saying she simply couldn't handle the stresses of her job.
"It is discouraging when Olivia, who candidly I think the strain of the work was something that led us to say, she as a career employment of Department of Homeland Security, we asked her to go back to the department because we felt the strain was too much for her to do the job. And during her time she never --" Short said before MSNBC's Hallie Jackson interrupted him.
"Are you saying she was not capable of functioning in this position?" Jackson asked.
"During her time here, she never expressed any concerns," said Short. "When she left, she wrote us all and said, it has been an absolute honor working closely with all of you."
Typically when a former Trump staffer comes forward to reveal something horrible about the president, the White House moves in to attack them and destroy them and their lives and credibility. So, it isn't shocking to see Short employ this tactic.
He went on to say that Troye wasn't really a life-long Republican because she said she didn't vote for Trump in 2016. Short also dismissed Troye's claims that Trump was more excited about not shaking hands with people because they're "disgusting." Trump, a notorious and documented germaphobe, called COVID-19 a "good thing" for that reason, according to Troye.
His fear of germs was one of the reasons he said it was clear the Christopher Steele dossier was a lie, “I’m also very much of a germaphobe, by the way, believe me," Trump said just before being inaugurated in 2017. In a 1999 interview with Trump for "Later Today," Trump called shaking hands "barbaric."
"I mean, they have medical reports all the time. Shaking hands, you catch colds, you catch the flu, you catch this. You catch all sorts of things. Who knows what you don't catch?" Trump said, according to page 71 of The World According to Trump. Still, Short claimed Trump never made the remarks about people being "disgusting."

The son of an Ohio police officer was accused this week of outing himself as one of the people who stole a number of Biden campaign signs.
The Ohio Union Country Democratic Party shared video that allegedly has been posted by the son of an officer in Marysville.
"Local cop's son shows off the Biden signs he and his friends stole, then tags the accomplices on his Instagram post," the Union County Democrats' Twitter account said. "Hey @MarysvilleOHPD. You know where he lives. When can we pick up our signs?"
Video shared with the post shows someone flipping through a stash of Democratic Party campaign signs. The post included the message: "Fuck Biden."
At the time of publication, the Marysville Police Department's Twitter account had not responded to the Union Country Democratic Party's tweet.

Speaking with the Washington Post's Eugene Robinson, MSNBC "Morning Joe" host Joe Scarborough marveled at the Republican senators who are facing the loss of their seats because of what Donald Trump has done to the country but still plan to rubberstamp whomever the president nominates to replace Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg before pointing out why they're falling in line.
With Senators Cory Gardner (R-CO) and Thom Tillis (R-NC) likely facing defeat on November 3rd, Scarborough said they are less concerned with their reputations and more fearful of their post-politics futures if they buck the president.
"Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has done something that is extraordinary," host Scarborough explained as guest Robison laughed. "That it takes so much hard -- years and years of hard work and dedication to be as bad of a politician as he has been to be tied in a Senate race in South Carolina with six weeks to go."
"All of these people -- I'm sorry, it sounds really cynical, but when Martha McSally (R-AZ) decides to do this, she loses the suburbs of Phoenix -- she loses her race. When Susan Collins (R-ME), if Susan Collins has to vote and decides to vote, she loses Maine -- she's probably already lost Maine. Thom Tillis (R-NC), again, will have defections in the suburbs and among women and young people, among all the people he needs to get back, he's lost them forever when he does this."
"And Cory Gardner (R-CO), my god. how bad will it be for Cory Gardner?" he exclaimed. "I hate to be cynical about this, but it looks like for many of these people they are making the calculation that [the New York Times] Peter Baker is saying, and it's not about running in the future. It's like, 'what do I do after I lose this year? Well, if I cross Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell (R-KY), I can't be a lobbyist and make a lot of money. But if I vote for them, I'm still in good stead with the party, I have a future politically and I can get a job right after I leave office.'"

Prominent Republican attorney and Lincoln Project member George Conway on Monday offered his analysis of how reporters should question President Donald Trump.
Conway, the husband of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, made his comments after watching video of Trump refusing to criticize Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“Who do you think poisoned Alexei Navalny in Russia?”
“Uh,” Trump replied. “We’ll talk about that at another time.”
Conway suggested reporters follow-up on Trump's refusal to criticize the Russian dictator.
"That actually would be a great interview question for Trump: Tell me one thing you don’t like about Vladimir Putin. Or something about him that gives you pause or concern. Just one thing," Conway suggested.
Jaime Harrison, the Democrat challenging Sen. Lindsey Graham, on Monday said that his upstart campaign is panicking the incumbent.
Harrison was interviewed on MSNBC by "The Last Word" anchor Lawrence O'Donnell, who noted the most recent polling shows a tied race.
"Have you experienced any extra fund-raising surge over the weekend?" O'Donnell asked.
"Well, Lawrence, we have gotten tremendous support and we really appreciate it," Harrison replied.
"Do you believe you have the resources and the campaign team and the ground troops you need in South Carolina to actually pull this off?" O'Donnell asked later in the interview.
"Lawrence, the momentum is on our side," Harrison replied.
"You know, right now I am living rent free in Lindsey Graham's head right now because he understands that the people of South Carolina want something different," he explained. "It's been consistent in our polling that 57%, 58% of folks want somebody new to be their U.S. senator and they're going to get somebody who is going to focus on them and fight for them. Lindsey just wants to sit with Sean Hannity every night or fly around on Air Force One or golf with the president."
Indeed, during the same hour Harrison was on MSNBC, Graham was in fact on Hannity's show, where he begged viewers for donations.

Republican Lt. Gov. Jon Husted of Ohio learned quickly on Monday that President Donald Trump’s voters aren’t ready for even mildly encouraging statements about wearing masks to stop the spread of COVID-19.
He appeared ahead of the president at a Trump rally in Ohio, and he tried to promote a series of Trump-branded masks. To the attendees’ credit, his speech was pretty condescending. Husted seemed to think he could convince them to wear face masks — which have become demonized on the right — just because they were branded with Trump logos.
But Husted was at least trying to encourage healthy behavior among his voters, which Trump has repeatedly declined to do. Experts agree masks are one of the most effective ways to reduce the spread of the respiratory virus, and the fact that this advice has become anathema to large swaths of the country — primarily supporters of the president — is extremely dangerous on its own terms and disturbing for what it says about our politics.
“If you go into a grocery store where you’ve got to wear [a mask],” Husted said, prompting boos from the crowd. “Hang on, hang on, just listen up. Just listen up.”
As the boos increased, Husted relented somewhat, saying, “Alright, I get it!”
At one point, an attendee shouted: “Not gonna work!”

DeWine has received a great deal of criticism from the far-right for shutting down Ohio during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Trump described DeWine "as a real good friend of mine" at his rally in Vandalia.
