David Perdue vows to create 'election police' to investigate voters if elected governor of Georgia

On Thursday, CNN reported that Republican gubernatorial candidate David Perdue is vowing, if elected in Georgia, to create a force of "election police" to investigate voters for wrongdoing.

"Perdue's plan would create 'an Election Law Enforcement Division in the State of Georgia' that would 'be charged with enforcing election laws, investigating election crimes and fraud, and arresting those who commit these offenses,' according to a release from his campaign," reported Dan Merica. "Perdue's plan also called for 'election results to be independently audited before certification.'"

Lesbian couple killed and dismembered while visiting border city in Mexico

A lesbian couple who was visiting the Mexican border town of Ciudad Juárez was murdered and their bodies were dismembered and spread along the streets miles apart from each other in separate garbage bags, The Daily Mail reports.

Nohemí Medina Martínez and Yulizsa Ramírez, both 28, of El Paso, Texas, were tortured and shot before they were dismembered, according to reports.

Police were dispatched as the civil war within the Republican Party heated up in Orange County, California.

"Police were called to step in after a group of conservatives wearing orange shirts that said 'RINO hunters,' with crosshairs making a target of the 'O,' tried to storm a Republican Party of Orange County meeting in Costa Mesa on Monday night," the Orange County Register reported. DeSantis election police force panned as ‘a door prize for a QAnon pep rally’

Efforts by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to create a special police force to oversee elections have been panned as a tool to intimidate voters.

"The proposed Office of Election Crimes and Security would be part of the Department of State, which answers to the governor," The Washington Post reported Tuesday. "DeSantis is asking the GOP-controlled legislature to allocate nearly $6 million to hire 52 people to 'investigate, detect, apprehend, and arrest anyone for an alleged violation' of election laws. They would be stationed at unspecified 'field offices throughout the state' and act on tips from 'government officials or any other person.'”
