Ashli Babbitt's mom tells Giuliani a 'Black woman' would be better treated than her daughter

Ashli Babbitt's mother spoke to Rudy Giuliani on his podcast, released on Sunday, and claimed that her daughter is treated worse than a Black woman in America.

Aside from the racist claim, Babbitt joined a crowd of attackers in breaking through the windows and doors of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, marched through the halls of the Capitol, then directly to the outer office of the Speaker of the House, where she helped break out the glass with a Capitol Police officer standing with his gun drawn. She chose to go through the window anyway.

Rep. Elaine Luria (D-VA) called on the Department of Justice to open a criminal investigation of former President Donald Trump if there wasn't one already underway.

The Virginia Democrat, who helped lead Thursday's public hearing that covered the former president's actions as the Jan. 6 insurrection unfolded, said Trump violated his oath and committed criminal actions in his attempts to overturn his election loss, and she strongly believed the attorney general should consider prosecuting him.

Flashback: Steve Bannon plotted Jan. 6-style riot for RNC if Trump was denied GOP nomination

Steve Bannon planned an uprising for the 2016 Republican National Convention that foreshadowed the Jan. 6 insurrection.

According to Joshua Green's 2017 Devil's Bargain, Bannon plotted an all-out war in Cleveland if then-House speaker Paul Ryan tried to prevent Trump from gaining the GOP nomination at a brokered convention, in an action that closely resembled what actually did transpire four and a half years later at the U.S. Capitol during the congressional certification of Joe Biden's election win.

Expect 'major violence': Joe Walsh issues MAGA warning if Trump is indicted

Today's Republican Party is in revolutionary mode. They are escalating their more than 50 years-long campaign to take away the human and civil rights of women, non-whites, the LGBTQ community, the disabled, the poor and others deemed to be the enemy in their "real America."

As the country becomes more racially diverse, younger, forward thinking and pluralistic, the American right wing is attempting to force the country back to the 19th century and the Gilded Age. Such moves are generally unpopular with the American people en masse. The Republican Party and the larger right wing movement dismiss such protests because they reject the basic principle of a true "We the People" democracy and are earnestly working to create a herrenvolk, apartheid, plutocratic, Christian fascist new America that will be ruled by a small number of white men and their allies.

Trump and Giuliani prosecutions could create ‘headache’ for cases against Capitol rioters

The Department of Justice faces public and political pressure to investigate Donald Trump and his chief allies for their roles in the Jan. 6 insurrection, but hitting the former president with criminal charges could throw the cases against Capitol rioters into chaos.

Any decision to prosecute Trump is still probably several months away, at least, but DOJ charges against him or top allies such as Rudy Giuliani would create delays in cases against individuals who stormed the Capitol because their attorneys would almost certainly want evidence against the ex-president as part of the discovery process, reported Politico.
