"Congress has been in recess for the last couple of weeks," said Raju. "They are also on recess this week. Most House Republicans have said very little, including the House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy, who did say these were serious allegations, and he did plan to speak with Congressman Gaetz. Beyond that, there's been very little public response from top Republicans who have stayed quiet."

But it was disgraced former Mayor Rudy Giuliani who John Oliver found particularly hilarious. In a takedown of the video, Giuliani tried to detail what was happening in the video that he objected to without actually saying what was happening.

"I do think you have to step back and look at the fact that you've had a succession of people, senior people in the Republican Party, Roy Moore, the Republican candidate for Senate in Alabama, Jim Jordan, who has been accused of looking the other way of sexual assault when he was a wrestling coach, and now Matt Gaetz."

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough lambasted Fox News for uncritically airing a former Trump adviser's conspiratorial claims against Dr. Anthony Fauci.

Peter Navarro, a former trade adviser to Donald Trump, smeared Fauci as the "father" of the coronavirus after he criticized the former president's handling of the pandemic, and the "Morning Joe" host blasted the conspiracy theories that undermined public health.
