Nikki Haley has been called "a moderate Republican who is likely to run for the GOP presidential nomination in 2024." While some disagree, calling her "an extremist on Israel, Iran, and human rights," being painted as a moderate has been beneficial to her career.

As South Carolina's governor she took her time before agreeing to have the Confederate flag removed from flying on a flagpole by the State Capitol, but ensured it had a place inside. She served as Donald Trump's U.S. Ambassador to the UN but at times ensured a perception of distance between them, like criticizing Russia when Trump refused.

It’s not the senator’s first visit to Iowa this year. It’s his eighth since 2019. And while Cotton said his visits to Iowa are to help elect Republicans in November, Iowa Republicans are well aware of why political figures flock to their state.

“So we have Senator Cotton, Tom and his, wife, Anna, come out and join us because there’s a lot of people here in Iowa who like your leadership,” Nunn said. “And oh, I like to think that people come here and support Kelly and me, but it just so happens that Iowa’s 3rd (District) happens to be on the pathway to a certain house somewhere down the road.”

Zach Nunn launch his campaign’s veteran coalition, offering his support in the race against incumbent U.S. Rep. Cindy Axne.

In an epic debate, Republican commentator Scott Jennings was called out to his face by CNN analyst Kasie Hunt.

Speaking about the second of hearings for the House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 election and conspiracy to overthrow the 2020 election, Jennings tried the "both candidates" approach to attacking the presumptive presidential candidates for 2024.

Former President Donald Trump attacked a fellow Republican on Saturday evening.

"Don't forget that Katie Arrington, a wonderful person, is running against the terrible Nancy Mace, who really let us down," Trump said in a message posted to his Truth Social platform.

Mike Pence, Tom Cotton and Ron DeSantis are already dipping their toes into the race for the Republican Party's 2024 presidential nomination, according to a new report in the Washington Post. But, they're not the only ones.

On Thursday, ahead of the first public hearings by the House Select Committee investigating the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, The Washington Post reported that the committee will begin by focusing on the activities of far-right extremist groups that helped organize the attack — complete with never-before-seen footage.

"Committee Chairman Bennie G. Thompson (D-Miss.) and Vice Chairwoman Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) will lead the evening’s presentation, which will feature live testimony from Caroline Edwards, a U.S. Capitol Police officer who was seriously injured as pro-Trump rioters and members of far-right extremist groups forced their way into the building," reported Jacqueline Alemany. "Nick Quested, a British filmmaker who embedded with and documented the activities of one of those extremist groups, the Proud Boys, will also testify."

According to a report from Politico, Donald Trump's attempt to oust Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) in the Republican primary in South Carolina on June 14th seems to be going nowhere with former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R) backing the incumbent who appears headed to victory.

As Politico has previously reported, "While she worked to elect Trump in 2016, Mace became a fierce critic after last year’s Capitol riot, then later embraced her partisan-warrior side before taking a high-profile anti-Trump vote. This year, after the former president endorsed Mace’s primary challenger, she filmed a video in front of Trump Tower touting herself as the only Republican who could keep Democrats from claiming her seat."

According to MSNBC political analyst Zeeshan Aleem, former President Donald Trump has faced humiliation as multiple high-profile Republican Party candidates he endorsed have flopped with voters -- but that could actually be good news for him and strengthen his 2024 presidential bid should he choose to run.

While critics of the former president have been rubbing their hands in glee as Trump-endorsed Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC), former Sen. David Perdue (R-GA) and Rep. Jody Hice (R-GA) went down to defeat in the past few weeks, Aleem claimed the belief that Trump has lost his mojo with voters is leading to more rivals for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination to seriously consider challenging him.

Donald Trump has been discussing Rep. Elise Stefanik of New York as a potential running mate in 2024, CNN reported Wednesday, citing "multiple GOP sources with direct knowledge of the matter."

Stefanik is currently the third-ranking Republican as chairwoman of the House Republican Conference and is considered a potential candidate for GOP Whip if the GOP wins the 2022 midterms.

According to a report from the Washington Post on former half-term Alaska gov Sarah Palin's re-emergence onto the political scene, the former vice presidential candidate/reality show celebrity offered to bring early '70's rock star Ted Nugent to the state GOP convention beginning April 21st.

The report notes that her offer was declined.
