How will DeSantis govern Florida? Presidential run could dictate next moves

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — With a landslide victory and a Republican supermajority in the Legislature, Gov. Ron DeSantis is guaranteed the ability to continue his conservative culture wars agenda against the “woke ideology’' that helped earn him a second term. The historic 19-point victory over Democratic challenger Charlie Crist is also being hailed as confirmation of his first-term policies, which were consumed by COVID policies to reopen the state, return children to schools and restrict the use of masks. It also gives him a mandate going forward that, as DeSantis himself said, proves that most Fl...

Trump's startling DeSantis claim made it into a Florida courtroom in only 24 hours: report

Donald Trump's Thursday meltdown on his Truth Social website had already made its way into court proceedings in Florida just one day later.

"Former President Donald Trump's post-election screed labeling Florida's governor 'Ron DeSanctimonious' didn't go unnoticed by Andrew Gillum or his Miami lawyers," the Tallahassee Democrat reported. "In addition to saying he helped 'fix' DeSantis' campaign after it had 'completely fallen apart,' Trump said he also got the feds to intervene 'when votes were being stolen' in Broward County."

On Friday, November 11, Wallace shared his opinion on CNN's "At This Hour With Kate Bolduan." During the segment, Bolduan played a clip of Virginia Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears (R) disavowing Trump and asked Wallace for his perspective.

With an eye on White House again, Trump lashes out at fellow Republicans

By James Oliphant and Gram Slattery

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Days before he is expected to launch another White House run, Donald Trump is again at war with his own party, angrily denouncing potential rivals, airing old grievances and acting more like the insurgent who stormed to victory six years ago than a former president.

'He's not that popular': Fox News hosts want Donald Trump to 'be quiet' and postpone 2024 announcement

The Democratic Party's better-than-expected performance in the Tuesday midterms has sparked a firestorm of debate on the right about the future of the Republican Party and over whether former President Donald Trump should consider not running again in 2024.

Trump teased earlier this week that he will make an announcement on the matter on Tuesday, November 15th. But the defeats of high-profile right-wing candidates whom he endorsed – such as United States Senate hopeful Mehmet Oz in Pennsylvania and Michigan gubernatorial nominee Tudor Dixon – have raised a lot of eyebrows about Trump's viability against incumbent Democratic President Joe Biden (presuming that he seeks a second term).

DeSantis rewrote the political map in Florida. Will the changes be permanent?

MIAMI — In his victory speech Tuesday, Gov. Ron DeSantis said that his victory over Democrat Charlie Crist had “rewritten the political map.” It wasn’t hyperbole. The Republican governor managed to flip eight of the 13 counties he had lost in his first election in 2018 and improved his performance in each of Florida’s 67 counties. Those gains propelled DeSantis to the most lopsided victory by a Florida governor since 1982, when Democrat Bob Graham won re-election with more than 64% of the vote in Florida. DeSantis saw his biggest gain in Miami-Dade County, with a 16-point improvement over his ...

'I'm out': Dilbert cartoonist says he's finally done with Trump

Dilbert cartoonist Scott Adams has stuck by Donald Trump through countless scandals throughout the years, from getting caught on camera boasting about sexually assaulting women to getting impeached for trying to shake down the Ukrainian government for dirt on political rivals, and for getting impeached again for inciting a deadly riot at the United States Capitol building.

Now, however, Adams on Friday said he's finally had enough, and it came after Trump unloaded on Republican Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin for an unspecified reason.

Trump launches racist attack on Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin

On Friday, former President Donald Trump used his Truth Social platform to blast out an attack on Republican Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, claiming he would never have won without Trump's help and throwing in a bizarre, racist attack about his name.

"Young Kin (now that’s an interesting take. Sounds Chinese, doesn’t it?) in Virginia couldn’t have won without me," wrote Trump. "I Endorsed him, did a very big Trump Rally for him telephonically, got MAGA to Vote for him - or he couldn’t have come close to winning. But he knows that, and admits it. Besides, having a hard time with the Dems in Virginia - But he’ll get it done!"

'He cost us the election and we're done': Some Trump voters say they're ready to move on

Many of Donald Trump's loyal supporters are starting to have second thoughts, especially after the poor midterm performance of some of the candidates he backed, the New York Post reports.

The losses of far-right Republican Doug Mastriano for governor and celebrity heart surgeon Dr. Mehmet Oz in their races for U.S. Senate "had a ripple effect down-ballot, costing the Republicans not just a US Senate seat they once held as well as the governor’s office, but also three seats in the House of Representatives that were up for grabs plus the majority in the statehouse," The Post's Salena Zito writes.

Republicans are pointing fingers after failing to produce a red wave in Tuesday's midterm elections, according to a former GOP lawmaker on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."
