The GOP defense of Rudy Giuliani was taken down in a satirical column published by the Chicago Tribune on Wednesday.

"Federal investigators had the gall to execute a so-called search warrant on the New York City apartment of my hero and close personal friend Rudy Giuliani, America's mayor and former lawyer to the most honest president we've ever had, Donald J. Trump," Rex Huppke wrote. "Suffice it to say I am OUTRAGED. I am unfamiliar with the case, have not read the search warrant and do not get information from traditional 'news sources,' but I can say with 100% confidence this is #JudicialOverreach mixed with #CancelCulture mixed with communist propaganda."

This Wednesday, federal authorities carried out a search warrant at the home and office of Rudy Giuliani. The warrant was in regards to an ongoing investigation into Giuliani's alleged lobbying efforts during Donald Trump's presidency.

According to ABC News, Giuliani's electronic devices, including his cellphone, were confiscated by authorities. "Giuliani's work on matters related to Ukraine and his business dealings with two Soviet-born associates has been the subject of an ongoing investigation by prosecutors in the Southern District of New York," ABC News reports.

In the wake of federal investigators executing a search warrant at the home and office of former Trump lawyer and confidant Rudy Giuliani this Wednesday, Giuliani's lawyer Bob Costello issued a lengthy statement condemning the raid as having misplaced priorities.

"The Biden Department of Justice has completely ignored clear evidence (which the FBI has had for over a year) in texts and emails on Hunter Biden's hard drive of failing to register numerous times as a foreign agent, child pornography, money laundering, and 30 years of the Biden Crime family taking millions and millions in bribes to sell his public offices," the statement read.

A pair of legal analysts agreed that the raid on Rudy Giuliani's apartment was a significant step in the criminal investigation into his dealings in Ukraine while serving as Donald Trump's attorney.

CNN legal analysts Elie Hoenig and Laura Coates on Wednesday said the search warrant against the former president's personal attorney was highly significant, and they said it could cover a broad range of potential crimes.

Fox Business reporter Charlie Gasparino on Wednesday attempted to spin the raid on Rudy Giuliani's apartment as a "political" attack.

Following the news that federal agents had executed a search warrant on Giuliani's home, Gasparino brought up Hunter Biden as a defense. Giuliani has been under scrutiny over his dealings with Ukraine.
