Rudy Giuliani probe grew out of international FBI investigation of Lev Parnas

On Thursday, TIME Magazine reported that the investigation into former President Donald Trump's longtime lawyer Rudy Giuliani began "long before" the FBI raid on his home and office, and sought interviews from his associates around the world.

"The witnesses, who spoke on condition of anonymity, described lengthy interviews with investigators in Europe, Manhattan and Washington, starting in the fall of 2019 and continuing through February," reported Simon Shuster. "The calls and meetings with investigators grew more frequent and 'intense' after Joe Biden's victory in last fall's presidential election, says one of the witnesses. Two of the witnesses say they were working with Giuliani while cooperating with federal investigators."

The federal government's investigation into former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani has extended as far as Eastern Europe, according to a new report by Politico.

"A former Ukrainian parliamentarian has spoken with the FBI about his knowledge of Rudy Giuliani's activities, he told POLITICO. Andrii Artemenko, who appeared in a controversial documentary with the former New York mayor, said in a text message exchange that he has shared what he knows about Giuliani with federal investigators," Betsy Woodruff Swan reported Thursday. "He added that the FBI reached out to him last year and declined to share further details on his communication with law enforcement."
