Trump's two biggest accomplishments are coming back to haunt his 2024 campaign

As Donald Trump ramps up his bid to become the Republican Party's 2024 presidential nominee, the former president is facing the prospect that the two biggest accomplishments during his four years in the Oval Office might be too toxic to run on if he makes it to the general election.

According to a report from Politico, the former president's campaign staffers are trying to figure out a way for Trump to talk about his part in overturning Roe v. Wade, by stacking the Supreme Court with extremist conservative judges, to win in the primaries, and then not have it come back to haunt him in the general election where it has already been shown to be detrimental for Republicans based upon the 2020 midterm election results.

Republicans have a growing election fraud problem: columnist

The deep dive into lies used by New York Republican George Santos to get himself elected to Congress has opened up a can of worms for Republicans as more GOP lawmakers are being scrutinized over biographical claims that don't match up with reality.

With new revelations about the New York Republican's sketchy seemingly dropping every day, Santos has drawn the major share of scrutiny, but two of his House colleagues, Reps. Anna Paulina Luna (FL) and Andrew Ogles (TN), are also now being forced to explain what can be charitably be described as misrepresentations.

'Frustrated, embarrassed and annoyed': Trump voters are willing to walk away

Donald Trump will likely not be pleased at how he is being viewed by a collection of voters who backed him in 2020 and recently took part in two focus groups about his political future.

The participants, who hail from the key early-voting states of New Hampshire, Nevada, Iowa and South Carolina, uniformly stood up when asked about their previous support for the former president – but that does not make him their first choice when it comes to 2024.

DeSantis trolls Trump by holding big donor retreat in shadow of Mar-a-Lago

With a reported $70 million sitting in the bank, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) will be hosting a three-day donor retreat this week for wealthy donors. And, despite having all of Florida to choose from, he's holding it just minutes away from Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago home.

Over the weekend the Palm Beach Post reported on Trump holding a President's Day small-scale gathering at a close-by Hilton, followed by another event at his home Thursday. Monday's gathering led one observer to point out that the former president is eschewing his larger rallies before adding, "Seems as if Trump has lost his mojo."

'Nightmare candidate' Kari Lake has Republicans in a bind: columnist

The lack of a deep bench of possible U.S. Senate contenders may saddle the Arizona Republican Party with failed gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake as its only hope for the seat now held by Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ).

According to AzCentral columnist Laurie Roberts, that can't make the GOP leadership in the state -- to say nothing of the Senate Republican leadership – happy as they try to reclaim control of one of the chambers of Congress.

The usual bag of political tricks probably won’t work: Research shows Gen Z voters crave something different

A new post-election national report on Gen Z voters finds the youngest voters wish they had more information about candidates before they went to the polls, and that if political candidates and parties want to reach this generation, the usual bag of political tricks probably won’t work.

The report is based on research from the Walton Family Foundation, education advocacy nonprofit Murmuration, and public opinion research firm SocialSphere. Its goal was to gather insights and information for those who want to figure out how to appeal to Gen Z voters, which it designates as youth aged 15 to 25.

“I think the overall theme of this suite of research that we’re doing on this project is that a lot of people talk about Gen Z, but they don’t talk to Gen Z,” John Della Volpe, founder and CEO of SocialSphere and director of polling at the Harvard Kennedy School Institute of Politics, told the Capital-Star.

Ex-GOP strategist rips 'phony MAGA flip-flopper' Nikki Haley in scathing video

Nikki Haley supporters have been touting her as a voice of old-school conservative reason in the 2024 GOP presidential primary and a logical alternative to former President Donald Trump (who announced his campaign after the 2022 midterms) and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (who hasn’t made any type of formal announcement but appears likely to be running). However, Never Trump conservative Tim Miller, in a humorous yet scathing video for The Bulwark, expresses a very different view of the ex-South Carolina governor and former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.

Miller, a former GOP strategist and frequent guest on MSNBC, expressed his total disdain for the MAGA movement by leaving the Republican Party. In his video, Miller is highly critical of his former party’s 2024 presidential field, from Haley to DeSantis. And he argues that it is a contradiction for someone as "MAGA" as Haley to paint herself as a voice of moderation.
