Nancy Pelosi was worried Mike Pence couldn't trust the Secret Service

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi spoke to MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell on Tuesday about some of the findings from the House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.

Some of the scenes that day were revealed in footage taken by her daughter. In one moment, Pelosi is seen on the phone with then Vice President Mike Pence asking if he was safe. She explained that she and other leaders were taken away from the Capitol to an undisclosed location. Pence was still in the secure parking structure.

Never before seen footage from the Jan. 6 insurrection was aired on CNN last week showing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi saying that if then President Donald Trump showed up to the building she would punch him and would go to jail for it.

Police investigating video of a White man grabbing a Black man by the neck

Police are investigating a video that has gone viral of a White man grabbing a Black man by the neck and attacking him over allegations of a stolen bicycle.

NPR reported the Milwaukee fight of the 62-year-old White guy claiming that he saw a friend of the 24-year-old Black man take the bike. The Black man keeps saying over and over that he never touched another person's bike.

Morning Joe trashes Michael Flynn's Christian Nationalism for having nothing to do with Christianity

"Morning Joe" welcomed Associated Press reporter Michelle Smith, who helped create a new documentary in partnership with PBS's Frontline on disgraced former general Michael Flynn, who is waging a kind of holy war by combining anti-vaccine people with evangelicals and conspiracy theorists.

"You know, Michelle, we've had quite a few guests on over the past several weeks talking about how, well, one of the biggest problems of to Christian Nationalism is -- actually has little to do with Christianity," said co-host Joe Scarborough. "And we're seeing this across the West. We saw it in Italy and have seen it in other countries, too, where the very people who associate themselves as Christian Nationalists are people who go to church less, and their Christianity is more about a cultural identifier than a biblical identifier."

Independent candidate Evan McMullin went after Sen. Mike Lee in the Utah Senate debate Monday, for his role in the Jan. 6 attempt to go after Congress and overthrow the 2020 election. Lee was part of those who were texting with the White House that he was ready to do whatever it took to help Trump win, but unlike most of the Trump allies in the Senate, he wouldn't speak out publicly.

Lee encouraged top Trump advisers to bring in Sidney Powell, a Republican lawyer who has since been thrown out of Trump's legal pool and sanctioned by a court in Michigan for lying in a court filing.

Man accepts a reward from police by saying cops 'don't keep us safe'

Alex Mingus was given the Award for Valor for saving a man who'd been shot. As he took the stage to speak after getting an award from the St. Paul police chief, he had a clear message: “I just want folks to know that they don’t keep us safe."

Pioneer Press reported that Mingus said that individuals like him keep the communities safe. He noted that while he was helping a shooting victim bleeding on the ground he watched as about nine squad cars drove by. He tried to flag them down but didn't want to stop the pressure on the wound.

FBI official says field office agents are whining about prosecuting Jan. 6 attackers: Nicolle Wallace

MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace started her show Monday with an exclusive bit of information that FBI field offices are staffed with agents miffed over the prosecutions of the Jan. 6 attackers, feeling that what they did was nothing more than misdemeanors. It was reported last week by NBC News that one former FBI official sent a letter to Paul Abbate, who is now the No. 2 official at the bureau.

According to the former official speaking to Wallace, the agents in field offices don't think prosecuting the Jan. 6 defendants is all that important, but they're doing it anyway.
