Conservative Club for Growth fires shot across Trump's bow

The far-right group, Club for Growth, released a new poll showing that Donald Trump would not win the Republican Primary in 2024. According to the numbers, his new biggest foe, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) is edging out the former president.

Politico reported the numbers Monday showing that DeSantis has a double-digit lead over Trump in the early primary states of Iowa and New Hampshire. According to the polling memo, DeSantis is also leading Trump by hefty margins in Florida and Georgia.

Former Vice President Mike Pence is beginning his book tour to promote his memoir which talks about his time serving under former President Donald Trump. In an interview with ABC News, Pence was asked about Jan. 6 and his experience standing at the loading dock trying to figure out what was going on.

In clips teasing the interview, Pence looks down, pausing for a moment, appearing emotional, and called Trump "reckless." He said, "I can't account for what the president was doing that day."

Washington Post reporter Ashley Parker said that one of the things she learned from Republican pollsters speaking to GOP voters in focus groups who revealed that despite their support for the party, they really didn't like what happened on Jan. 6.

"That somehow democracy was too big and weighty of an issue for voters to understand. House committee finds Trump Hotel scoring huge profits from 6 countries 'at sensitive times' for their US relations

The House Oversight and Reform Committee sent a letter to the National Archives on Monday requesting information about former President Donald Trump and the Trump Hotel in Washington, DC, which he has since sold. The committee found that at a time when several countries were conducting international policy relations with the U.S. those dignitaries were also sending money to the president's pocket through his hotel.

Over the course of his presidency, politicians and foreign dignitaries stayed at the hotel, leading congressional officials to wonder if it was to curry favor with the president.

Kushner stayed at Trump hotel at the same time as Qatar officials — two months before their property deal

The House Oversight and Reform Committee has obtained some of Donald Trump's tax information after years of litigation. Among the documents that were handed over to the committee, however, was information about the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C. which was blocks from the White House.

In a letter to the National Archives, the committee details a laundry list of financial benefits from foreign dignitaries revealed using the hotel ledgers.
